Dear all, I'm having some trouble setting up a site to site link between two schools and would be very grateful for any pointers as I'm a bit stuck. SETUP: Firstly, both sites are on SWGFL and we've had the required ipsec ports opened at both ends. Cisco routers at both ends are managed by SWGFL. We also have a pair of Cisco SA540 security appliances which have now been configured as a site to site link, this is up and running (states connection established at both ends). Multiple 2008 R2 Servers run as DC’s at both sites (DHCP/DNS…) currently RRAS isn’t running on any of the DC’s. QUESTION: How would I go about routing the correct traffic though the VPN so I can setup one site as a child domain? Am I correct in assuming adding a static route on the DCs could be the answer? My other thought at the moment is to put a change request in to SWGFL (ISP) and get them to add a new route in to both routers, I’m a bit lost on this one though. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance, Dave

Good Morning, I hope your all looking forward to the weekend Apple has released a guide for apple users to prepare for the removal of PPTP VPN on apple devices. This means that they won't be able to connect through the old connection settings, instead they will need to create there connection using the new connection type L2TP/IPsec. It would be my luck for some users who likes to work from home to have a mac instead of windows. I have followed this guide on how to enable the L2TP/IPsec settings on our server, i have even restarted the server but mac users still cannot connect. https://www.elastichosts.co.uk/blog/windows-l2tpipsec-vpn-server/ Have anyone had any problems with this? Any help would be appreciated.

All my students are requesting to have VPN put on their laptops for when they go home. I've managed to add the VPN connection to their laptops via Group Policy but I could see no way of adding the desktop shortcut, which they prefer to use, in the policy settings! If I were to add the VPN connection manually to the XP laptops then you get the option but not in Group Policy! I don;t fancy manually adding it to ALL of the laptops so... Does any one know how you can add a desktop shortcut to a VPN connection via Group Policy or is this another one of those annoyances that Microsoft forgot about?

Hello Experts, I am having a weird problem regarding NPS Server when I upgraded my vpn servers from server 2008 R2 to Server 2012 R2. Actually in my infrasturcture I have a Windows 2008 R2 based AD and in its domain I have an NPS server joined as member server. This NPS server is based on server 2012 R2, when I upgraded my VPN servers from server 2008 R2 to server 2012 R2 the IKEv2 stops working every other protocols works on windows 7 when I try to connect using IKEv2 it hangs at verifying username and password nad when I tested IKEv2 in Win 8 it says IKE authentication credentials are unacceptable, inspite that my server certificate is valid EKU compatible. When I connected IKEv2 via my other server whose server 2008 R2 based VPN Server The IKEv2 works like a charm without any issues successfully authenticating. The problem seems to be with Server 2012 R2 based RRAS VPN Server. On my both server 2012 VPN and server 2008 R2 VPN servers the NPS server is added in the Radius Authentication. With options of MS-CHAPv2 and EAP selected in authentication options. I try to connect to the VPN server from Windows 8 "13801: IKE authentication credentials are unacceptable." When I try to connect via Win 7 Client the session hangs at verifying username and password. In the event logs I see this error.. after this error the session just hangs at verifying username and password..... http://fud.community.services.support.microsoft.com/Fud/FileDownloadHandler.ashx?fid=ce149a84-52e6-4448-812b-cdb878ac0ad4 Any Ideas...???? When I run the Best Practice Analyzer for Routing and Remote Access Services (RRAS) on the server I received two highlighted warning regarding server certificates. Any clues whats the problem with IKEv2.... http://fud.community.services.support.microsoft.com/Fud/FileDownloadHandler.ashx?fid=b441f8d5-7b44-416b-9d95-22e956350eb2 Please help me in this regards....this problem is driving me nuts...!!!
