We have huge issues with iOS 11. Any apple device that upgrades to version 11 or greater (up to 11.0.3) will just not connect to our network. We have about 800 devices that connect at various times of the day to 59 Unifi devices. Anything prior to OS11 works fine, android, PC work fine too. The iOS 11 devices join the network and then within a few seconds drop the network. We are using a Smoothwall Firewall with UTM and the certificate along with Windows Server 2012 as our DHCP server. I have spent hours on this and not got anywhere. Anyone able to help please?

trying to block certain groups in AD, but only allow me to block users and not OU group in web filtering. Any ideas ?

For some reason, some of our sixth form students are doing a controlled assessment where the research topic is breast implants. Due to the content of these sites, our Smoothie box sensibly categorises the sitesa s 'Adult' but I need to add an exception so that sixth form students can access the pages Any ideas?

Hi All, I have been tasked with finding some "Internet Filtering or something" for the local youth group I help out at. The network I have built I think serves its purpose and more but the one think it is lacking is a good internet connection (which is going to be upgraded very soon) and some kind of UTM gateway and a filter for the internet. The reason I want one of this is that Hopefully soon I will be providing remote access from outside via VPN or something and at the moment we are seriously lacking in internet security. So can anybody recommend a good UTM which has modem/router capability as at the moment I have only got an old modem router sat in the back of the cab which I don't like so preferably a rack mounted solution. Thanks in advance

Good Evening People. I am new to Smoothwall, so I decided to setup the Advanced Firewall UTM at home, which I do have a licence for. I've managed to get the Internet setup and is working, but I am really stuck on the SSL HTTPS side and AD integration. When a AD client goes onto the internet, its fine until they visit a website like Facebook, then it displays a certificate error and then the Smoothwall block page. I have created a Smoothwall group on the smoothwall system itself, and pointed it to Domain Admins, and then I have allowed Domain Admins to access everything, but I still get a block page. What I need to know is. 1. How do I create an SSL certificate so I can deploy it with GPO to stop the certificate errors. 2. How do I fix my AD Authentication so its actually talking properly to AD, I know it isn't because on the block page where it says User, this is replaced by an IP address instead of a Username. All help, guides is appreciated. I do have access to the Smoothwall Support Knowledge library so if there is something I have missed on there, please let me know. Cheers James

Dear All, We are looking to move away from Smoothwall as our UTM, and go to perhaps Palo Alto, or perhaps Lightspeed for the filter, and a separate firewall. But how do you do it? What is everyone else using??? Any comments or recommendations welcome! Ben.

I've been saving this until today (Star Wars Day). This is a little Easter Egg that those guys at Smoothwall hid in their UTMs VIDEO0001.mp4
