Hi there, I've not posted on here before, I work for a company called mso where we are developing a school portal product (I'm trying to give it a name but that's another story!) and the current MIS integration I'm working on is Progresso. I've hit numerous brick walls with their SOAP service however the current one seems to have me at a bit of an impasse. If I log in to the current clients Progresso UI I am able to drill down into a learner and then view their Assessment Details by year / subject / template. That is not a problem. However I need to be able to extract this information to be able to present it within our pretty responsive UI alongside all the other information for parents to view. Within the Assessment service documentation I have ( despite there being an incorrect web service URL ) there are a few methods that look like they would be useful but are missing ( listed below ) which is unfortunate because some of these feel like they would do what I am looking for. Assessments.GetSingleLearnerDetails Assessments.GetLearner Assessments.GetDataValuesByAssessment Assessments.GetDataValuesByAssessmentTypeOne Assessments.GetAssessmentScreens Assessments.GetAssessmentDataValues Assessments.GetAssessmentTemplateColumnByAssessmentTemplateColumnId I have used Assessments.GetLearnerAssessmentDetails for a specific LearnerID to get a list of AssessmentLearnerRecording records for users. This web service was pretty slow, taking around 20-25 seconds to return 17k so I suspect it's not the best one to be using. This returned a list of AssessmentLearnerRecording's. I was then able to use Miscellaneous.GetAssessmentLearnerResultValueByAssessmentLearnerRecordingID with an AssessmentLearnerRecordingID as entityId to retreive a set of AssessmentLearnerResultValue's but these nodes only seem to contain links to other more general places but no actual data. I have tried contacting Advanced Learning about Progresso by email and received no response. The client school has raised a support ticket. I have called them and managed to talk to someone but the only response I got from them summed up to "We have problems with the API" and "I'll chase up your ticket" which in turn solicited a response to the ticket which didn't answer the query! ( This was a week after the ticket was raised I should add ). Overall I'm not that impressed and am at a bit of a loss as to where to go from here as it certainly seems like information is not forthcoming from Advanced Learning. So, does anyone out there have any experience with the Progresso Soap API and are able to help me find where to get the data for learners reports? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
