Hi, I may be going completely mad but I've been trying to deploy Pcounter Popup using a vbs as Group Policy User Logon Script for some time and can't get it working! I created a vbs script which runs fine if I run it by double clicking but when I tried deploying it with Group Policy something odd started happening. I could see the icon in the task bar appear and then disappear. Trying to get to the bottom of the problem, I have pared back my script so it just runs the popup.exe from the c:\ drive and put in a message so that I can see the script has run. Now I can see that the script runs but when it closes, the application closes too . I then tried running a different app (notepad and then calculator), the same happens, script runs and when it closes, the app closes too. Does anyone have any idea what is wrong??

Hi All, We currently use Pcounter as out print solution but i am having trouble adding another printer, I have added it to the server and created a new Pcounter port to be used and the printer was working all of last week, however with out anything changing it no longer works. the job gets sent to the printer and can be seen in the printer queue using PControl but it doesn't print instead the status of the print job changes from Printing to "Printing: Waiting for the printer to Print...(30)" it then counts down from 30 to 0 and vanishes from the Queue but does not print. i have removed the printer from the pc and then re added it but it continues to the same...... has anybody else had a similar issue or have any ideas about why it may be doing this? Regards James

I am running Pcounter / Sharp Embedded in a cluster environment. 2 admin nodes. With reference to the OCR license run by Sentinel License Manager in (Daccs - Scanning - OCR) When the cluster fails over the license doesnt load on the new mode? I have a separate license on each node. Any ideas?

Hello Edugeekers, I have raised the issue with Altman and spoken with their tech support, but I had a good point raised by @garethedmondson today, in that I should ask on here as well especially as we seem to be having a strange intermittent issue at the moment with our pcounter system its happened since our rebuild and virtualisation. At the school I work, we are having an odd issue that has only affected 5 users so far, with printer jobs not sitting in the queues longer than 15 seconds before simply disappearing after the person selects their departments client code, this typically lasts in excess of 5 minutes on the machine where anything they can print will simply disappear, but its very frustrating for the user as they can come right across the campus thinking their jobs are still there to find nothing waiting for them. We have pcounter setup so that all staff will print to a mapped "Pull Queue" printer, they can then go along to any MFD on the network and select and print off their jobs, staff have unlimited credit on our system with departments being billed for their relevant staff usages. All MFD printers and the pull queue are setup in the same manner, though the config of the pull queue differs slightly in line with Altmans setup guides, we have eliminated it being the obvious settings like "Delete Duplicate Jobs" as that is turned off on the Queue and all MFD devices. We have had all the relevant checks done by me having gone right through the system and double checked by Altman and we are still seeing the issue occasionally, even the event viewer and pcounter logs do not show the job, it simply disappears from sight on the windows printer queue, though everything seems absolutely fine and normal as regards putting the print job through to the printer. At the moment, we are stumped, has anyone else experienced anything like this with their setups ? Thanks, Rich

Evening, We are seeing a weird discrepancy in our billing in school in regards to pCounter and the bills provided by Konica Minolta. Every quarter the school Librarian sends a counter reading to Konica. One reading for colour and one for black only. This works for her and she does it religiously. I have come across this issue today when looking into our copying (I've been asked to do it by the Deputy). Here is an example. We received a QTRly bill from KM dated 02/01/2011 - 02/04/2011. The information was: Black - 151,480 and Colour 19,675 The bill has been paid as at that time we had no reason to doubt anything. I've just run the same billing period in pCounter and this is what I was shown: Black - 136,512 and Colour 21,813. As you can see some major discrepancy there. I've done the same thing for QTR2 and 3 as well as running the bills against the current billing period up to today. They all report different to what the Konica machines are showing. What am I missing? I cannot get any of the figures to add up. At all. Am I reporting correctly? Any advice appreciated, Gareth

Help - pcounter doesnt record all jobs i.e they dont appear in reports or in pcounter.log. The user balance changes so we know the device is talking to the server. I think it is an issue with the pcountercache. The jobs are recorded in the log on the device ok. Any suggestions Everywomensdream (Ironic)
