As we have some Capita people who wander around the site, I thought i'd post this as a sort of 'open rant' to all. Why, with the advent of SIMS.net and it's all in one nature, do we still have Nova T4? Why was T6 released without *all* of the same functionality that T4 has? Why has a v7 version, integrated into the usual .Net system, not been released? As it stands, I know absolutely nothing about this old and useless piece of software. The reason for this rant is that we have moved to a thin client based system, which OK, is not supported, but it shouldn't matter. I have installed SIMS.net on the terminal servers and it works fine. When someone comes to use T4, they click on 'Reload from SQL' and no passwords work - with our LEA SIMS bods saying something about 'Synchronising passwords' and the like. Now, how am I meant to keep track of this sort of thing? I thought all the old systems were supposed to be going? *ARGH!*

Good morning everybody! Over the Easter holidays, I'm going to swap over to some new wonderfully fast Admin servers. The Deputy Head has asked can I migrate the school from Nova T4 to Nova T6 at the same time Now, this is where the fun begins... Does anyone have a guide on how to do this? We don't have SIMS.net as here in Pembrokeshire the LA decided Integris G2 was better (read cheaper) so I think I'm right in saying that I need T4 to do cover etc. Ideally I’d like to have a fresh install of both on the server so that its clan and tidy, more importantly, I can document where everything is! Currently, anyone who needs access to the T4 software has it installed on their PC and its pointed to the data on the server. Ideally I'd like to do this with T6 too so that the data is all in one place and that my standard Admin PC image will have Nova T4, T6 on it pointing to one place also. So basically, any help and/or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Ross

Hi All Anyone know how to change staff names on T4 now? (Whilst I like T6 for timetabling but I still like T4 for some reports so i want to keep it in use. T4 is still better for producing staff and student timetables than T6 and SIMS and I prefer way it can show the lessons without rooms more easily than T6).
