Prices for the TV side are going up in September. I'm moving away from Sly, I mean Sky, there are better priced freeview packages now, and I'm watching less than I use to so won't miss all the channels.

Any idea how much they are increasing by for the telly ?

IIRC its a £1.50 increase in September.

Got a phonecall from Sky last night

Sky: We're just calling to see how you are getting on with your package and if there are any offers we can provide you with?

Me: What on-top of our free upgrade happening tomorrow morning/

Sky: Oh right..err >shuffle< >stutter> erm well hope it all goes well and err >mumble< thank youfor calling Sky

Me: You called me! Bye!

Sky's left hand and right hands really have no idea do they.

This had been proven last weekend when we got collared by the Sky rep in the town centre. Similar question to above

Now, I had tried at least 3 times with Sky to get our standard box upgraded to a Sky+HD box without an HD Subscription. Problem was they kept wanting an installation fee of £60 for what amounts to the exact same box as the one you get with an HD subscription and every phone call had ended the same - Sky being stubborn.

Last time they called me - asked same question as last night. To which I went "Yes" and went through the whole thing about the upgrade and why I'd get charged £60 for a box that would be free if taking HD (We dont want HD as its primarily on Cartoon Network at the moment! - and I object to having to pay £10 a month for it!). So after about 15 minutes of this, I eventually said that I was considering **note - "considering"** looking at someone else (IE Virgin) - at which point the guy fae Sky - HUNG UP ON ME!

So I did actually start looking at other providers.....

So back to this guy in the Town Centre (remember him?)

I went straight for the jugular - how I'd been through this a few times now with Sky and that what we wanted was the Sky+HD box without HD and the install/box fees attached. I was waiting for the "yeah sorry mate cant do that" and me walking away.

Sky Rep: Hmm, no we can certainly do that for you

Me: !!!

Wife: !!!

Me: Ok - I'll bite..

So he goes through it all and about 10 mins later we had an engineer booked (today) to install our new Sky+HD box - for free!.. Well, an extra £5 for a bundle update .

Why the $expletive didn't they tell me this on the phone a few months ago!

The Sky Rep was equally confused as to why I hadn't been offered this and even more shocked when I told him about the one that hung up on me - after HE CALLED ME!

So, once its all in and working, I think a quick email to Sky will be getting typed out...
