Define and publish a service level agreement. My recommendation is to do a short course on ITILv4 (foundation). It will explain the basic concepts of SLO's, SLA's and how to align the business objectives with an achievable service level.

I think the point I was trying to make with Azure/AWS/GCP is that the AWS training is more valuable because you get a better understanding of what is actually happening, it is a more transferable skill. Azure (and GCP to a lesser extent) tends to obfuscate many of the things that are getting created in the background. It makes things harder when a bunch of resources have been created automatically, when terraform is doing this anyway. Another thing I found is that AWS uses very similar methods for configuring each feature whereas both GCP and Azure feel like they've been put together by different teams with different ways of interacting with each services, AWS is much more consistent.

I did AZ-103 No and No. No-one was interested in the qualifications when I was looking for work, all the interviews just wanted experience with either Azure/GCP/AWS with most preferring AWS. they will know from the interview questions whether you understand it (I'm now working on GCP full time). Some companies may use the qualifications to narrow down people for interview, but there are so many cloud based jobs around I wouldn't bother as long as you have either AWS/Azure/GCP experience and if you are going for any then do AWS as it is more thorough (Azure does a LOT of stuff behind your back).

My bad, I forgot they messed with the free education version, we're on enterprise. It's not a great way of dealing with 2-step- but it dramatically reduces the number of attempted logins from areas where the company doesn't operate - it's more Mutlifactor auth than 2step auth.

That's not true. It's available on Education standard and works on home devices. you CAN restrict access to 'company owned devices' but that isn't required.

You can do this in Google Workspace, it's in the documentation. You could apply that to a lot of technical things in schools, but it's a fairly simple fix to put appropriate measures in place to prevent it so I would say it is worth doing, plus there's also the angle that the IT team is responsible for the security of the software that is running. The example was for games, but it could equally apply to anything else they called winword.exe

If you can find a suitable bolt, perhaps you could put a couple of nuts on it and lock them together.

I't looks like it needs a specialist tool. You'll probably need to make something to remove them. Find a bolt that nearly fits and cut it down to size then weld an old socket to it. I've got a couple of tools I've had to make up for things like this - it's not uncommon on bikes.

I solved this issue by setting up an intermediate script in that gets run when the file is saved. The action of saving to the share ran the file command which checked the file against 'accepted' file types. The command checks the file, not the extension (which is a weird microsoft construct).

The extra beam might be a better solution, and would be less noticeable. I can see why they did it - so the ceiling remains flat. I don't think it's a massive problem to put right - if its <3M it's not load bearing and the rafters at the end look well secure, so don't lose sleep over it.

Screw some angle brackets into each joist. Do you have a buildings inspector from the council for this work? They are usually great for this sort of info.

Have you thought about using someone else's computers? I just decommissioned 6 servers, ordered new ones; they all arrived, were configured and added to the cluster in under 2 min! Seriously though, cloud really does take a lot of the hassle away from infrastructure.

Get an annual subscription to pluralsight. There's tonnes on there.

The only 'problem' with pre-term is that you need to drill bigger holes, and make sure your measurements are accurate. Other than that it's the way to go IMO.
