I've just had a lovely chat with Trend Micro about their handy USB blocking feature in the Worry-Free services, turns out it has no power to block SD cards. Considering we're blocking USBs as a security measure this makes it a bit useless... Does anyone have a system they use to block SD cards which are inserted into slots on laptops? Should we just glue them up and use external card readers which we can control a bit? I need to allow certain cards to be used for photography so need some flexibility! Thanks all!

No it doesn't seem to do it - we can sign out of Google from within Safari but then if you go back into Plickers and sign in with Google it automatically signs back into the same account, which seems to sing in on Safari in the background. The only way to sign out is to 'Clear History and Website Data' from Safari settings, which is a pain...

Hi all, we've got shared iPads we manage via Mosyle, one of the apps teachers like is Plickers, which users use their school Google accounts to log into. When they finish their session they logout on the app. The issue is when the next user picks up the iPad and open the app/click log on using Google they can just choose the previous user and it logs straight into that account, no password required or anything. I checked Chrome on the iPads and that's not getting signed in to their Google account when they log into Plickers, but Safari is. I can sign out their Google account in Safari and it will stay logged out, until I go back into Plickers and can do the same as above, logging into the previous users account without having to enter a password. Safari will then also be logged into their account. The only way round this I have found is to go to Safari settings and clear out web history etc. I've seen someone else having this problem with Google Classroom doing the same thing but they only had the clear data solution as well... Has anyone else experienced this or have any suggestions how to force the Google account to log out?

I applied the reg fix to our CC4 network, looks like it's working! I added it as a custom gp in the Global policies in Computer Policies in RMMC (if you're using that).

phew, thought this was only us! it just started doing this earlier in the week, we're trying to block it with a script but having no luck so far. I'm assuming it's something in last week's updates, is a bit U2 for my tastes... We are an RM CC4 school, don't know if that's relevant?

We use HP Probook G5s around the school, which are great cos if some kid rips off a key or 2 we are able to easily replace the keyboard for about £30. However the new G6 (and pretty much everything else) seems to use a non-replaceable keyboard, which has to be sent back to HP for a £200 repair... Does anyone know of a laptop (or make) which still uses easily replaceable keyboards or are they all just going this way now?

Could be just dead batteries - we've got a pile of dynabooks from the scheme which haven't been on for about a year and now won't take any charge, they run fine when plugged in but its like there's no battery in there. Replacement battery ~£80 is very much not worth it... plus the warranties have all expired so no chance of DfE being interested.

Did you ever find out why this was happening? We've got the same thing - I spoke to Google and they reckon it's our AD applying the policy, so users who sign into devices with their school account need to password protect it.

Thanks for your help, it wasn't sign in restriction it was a SSO SAML issue - enabled that and they can now sign on! New issue is the local password it asks for, which I think has been addressed in another post somewhere so I'll go have a look for that!

Yes staff and students are in different OUs (it's fairly basic at the moment, just one for all staff and another for all students). I thought this might be an issue so put my student test account into the Students OU, same thing happens, I can sign in with the test account but none of the actual student accounts!

No it seems to be all students, they only have lower case, upper case and numbers in their passwords...

We've got 16 Chromebooks set up as managed/provisions on the school's Workspace, I can sign into them with my staff account and my test student account but if students try to log in it says their password is wrong? I have logged this with Google to see if they can advise but they're taking a long time so I thought I'd check with the experts on here as well! Any ideas? All the students use Google Classroom on a daily basis so I know their Google accounts work...

We've got an ever increasing pile of dynabooks which seem to have lost the ability to charge their batteries, has anyone else seen this and know how to fix it? I've checked the PSU's are the correct power, tried static reset (holding power button for 30 secs) disconnected the battery for ~1hr and tried uninstalling the battery control (Microsoft ACPI) in device manager, but the battery stays at 0%. Can't update BIOS as battery is at 0%. They're barely 1 year old so I can't believe it's actual failed batteries? Got at least 9 of them now out of a total of 40 devices!

We've got a smashed screen too, plus a few where the screen just doesn't work! I contacted DfE and they said it needs to go back to Computacentre, the DfE provider, via the person in school who placed the order in the first place. No idea if they're going to bother charging us or just replace them with new ones, they're virtually disposable after all... I'm thinking about giving that a go - am I right that the powershell will be: Set-CsTeamsMeetingPolicy -Identity "Education_Teacher" -AllowEngagementReport Enabled where "Education_Teacher" is our staff meetings policy? Also is this the one that only works during the meeting? What do teacher's do if they forget to download it before ending the lesson? Thanks for your help!

Hi All, I've been asked if it is possible to list team meeting participants by surname in the Participants pane during a meeting, to make it easier for teachers to take registers. Has anyone else been asked this and if so, have you got a way of doing it? From searching it looks like Teams takes its display name format from O365, but I'm not having much luck finding how to alter this (we wouldn't mind if all display names were lastname/firstname).
