  1. Hi Nicola, Thank you for the offer of training but the installer gave us a run through of the most useful features. We are only a small school and don't require use of the device management software but thank you. Not that we are looking to move away from our current supplier, as our service/experience has been great so far but who else would you recommend in the Merseyside area?
  2. Update - We have had a number of BenQ screens fitted now and what a difference they have made to our classrooms. The staff are made up with the features and ease of use, we have even installed one in our school hall. The installation company has also been a breath of fresh air and go the extra mile at every opportunity.
  3. Wow that's good going to install 4 per day during term time, is the drilling noise not disturbing for the children? Your supplier must be raking it in each day , still £324 difference based on 4 units.
  4. We are planning to start rolling out BenQ RM6503K 65" touchscreens in our school over the coming few years. Prices seem to be all over the place ranging from £1699 - £2100 + Vat, installed. What we ideally need are the screens installing after school 3 - 6pm and will be purchased in quantities of 1 & 2 units. Anyone in the North west getting cheaper than £1699? Thanks
  5. We recently had to do this on a tight budget, we used a company called Educare AV. They installed one of this hdmi over cat5 systems for us and so far has worked a treat. It does however require you run a cat5 cable to each TV position. https://cpc.farnell.com/pro-signal/psg3381/hdmi-1-3-1x4-splitter-hdmi-extender/dp/AV28992?mckv=s_dc%7Cpcrid%7C224635168920%7Ckword%7C%7Cmatch%7C%7Cplid%7C%7Cslid%7C%7Cproduct%7CAV28992%7Cpgrid%7C46533246385%7Cptaid%7Cpla-1298418901878%7C&CMP=KNC-GUK-CPC-SHOPPING-945736535-46533246385-AV28992&s_kwcid=AL!5616!3!224635168920!!!network%7D!1298418901878!&gclid=CjwKCAjwvsqZBhAlEiwAqAHEldQ40dVdyZUZKOheC9Q_VdZOZHPDjbtWpxRAffWNrh4VZgnfQj6UvRoCNUIQAvD_BwE
  6. Give Educare AV a call, served us well for years and only down the road.
  7. Not familiar with viewsonic tbh, BenQ are very popular in our area and many schools have opted for them. There were a few features that we liked, free oktopus software, lots of free online benq resources, built in sharing features, blank screen, freeze function and better speakers built in. Can’t complain for £1699 +vat fitted. We did toy with getting the caretaker to fit them but was worried about this from an insurance/manual handling point of view.
  8. Well so far so good, massive thanks to Educare AV Services. Superb from start to finish, even gave our staff a demo and fixed some faulty data outlets free of charge. Headteacher is very impressed with the kit and is already talking about purchasing more screens.
  9. Anyway I’m not too worried about the Smart element as it’s not something we intend to use going forward. Had two more quotes in this morning and I can’t believe how much they vary for the same kit/job. Giving a local company a try who has come in the cheapest and appears to have good feedback online. They appeared very knowledgeable and friendly to deal with. Let’s see how it goes.
  10. I would also check out the Epson UST, LCD projectors. LCD seems to give a better representation of colours, somethings reds can look brown etc with DLP. My old school was prone to DLP chip faults causing white spots, I’d avoid DLP personally.
  11. What screens are you using and who fits them?
  12. One of the companies that quoted said that notebook 11 is now an obsolete product and can be used without any licensing issues?
  13. We tend to be moving away from Smart TBH, teachers are tending to use office 365 more and more. Best pricing we have had so far is £1,699 supplied and fitted which we think is fair.
  14. A local company took us to a nearby school and gave us a quick demo. The school gave cracking feedback and we especially like the built in sound bar which just gave it the edge over Iiyama. Just waiting on a third quote but so far I’m happy with the pricing.
  15. Hi All, Currently going through the motions for replacing some old IWB's. Budgets are tight at the moment but we really like the BenQ screens and they appear excellent value. Can anyone recommend a supplier/installer in the North west? What you guys paying for BenQ RM6501K screens supplied and fitted? Thanks in advance
