  1. We are recruiting a Technology Support Officer to provide whole school support in the use of technology to aid teaching and learning, and more generally technology to aid running the school. You will be based at Ryde Academy on the Isle of Wight with occasional visits needed to Hampshire. This is a brand new role that will see us attempt to bridge the gap between school based IT engineering and teaching, a role that is deemed particularly critical given the opportunity to leverage and integrate the use of technology into the running of the school post pandemic. This role is hands-on and in school, working alongside staff and students to support them in and around lessons and all elements of usable technology. There is however also a strategic element to the role, working with senior leaders to input into school strategy and representing the Trust wide technology strategy at school level. https://www.tes.com/jobs/vacancy/technology-support-officer-isle-of-wight-isle-of-wight-1574726?preview=1

  3. Hi All Would you say that the below PC would be suitable for running protools? https://www.hp.com/gb-en/shop/product.aspx?id=12M34EA&opt=ABU&sel=DTP
  4. https://schoolsweek.co.uk/software-supplier-takes-legal-action-against-second-trust/ It looks like Bromcom are taking another trust to court after losing out on procurement I cant for the life of me believe this is a sound medium or long term strategy for them. What are they expecting to get from this other than long term damage to their reputation? For those that are not aware of the history: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/217972-disappointed-bidder-sues-mat-after-mis-tender-failure-3.html
  5. I am curious about this, I was looking at their documentation today : https://docs.jamf.com/jamf-school/deploy-guide-docs/Jamf_School_Deployment_Guide_and_Documentation.html It has whole sections on macOS Updates/Upgrades, and talks about watchOS and tvOS as wellWhats the deal?
  6. Pretty pointless TBH. A page full of thumbnails would be an incredibly poor substitute for walking around stands and seeing live demos before your eyes. A 5 minutes non customised video of a product? That is no substitute for asking specific questions, seeing products close up, discussing roadmaps and discussing reference sites and case studies of similar schools. Then there is the question of who is going to just sit the there for hours clicking on generic videos? Not many people I imagine. BETT works for many people as it is a way of getting out of the office for a day and immersing yourself in ed-tech. You would lose that element entirely. We'll see I guess, but whilst a wall of videos might appeal to you I strongly suspect you are in the minority
  7. I wish my school was forward thinking enough to even ask me!
  8. I think the OP wanted to know of people who actually have a system in place, why do you keep proposing weird solutions you haven't tried and taking the conversation off topic???
