Thanks for the reply. They are going to the correct site and all of their names are ticked (which was very tedious!). I have just had an email from one of my testers who tells me she successfully logged in at home. Which suggests if may be a network issue.

OK, we worked out what the problem was there, we needed to download a patch and install. I have set everything up, invited the students, and given them permissions. I have selected a couple of students and supervised them through the set up process and all they get is a blank screen with the ability to log off. I can't see what I have done wrong. I have also noticed that the invitation setup has chnaged from last year. I can't find any instructions online and I am at a loss. Can anyone help?

We are setting up this year's options. We have set it to start in September 2022. Then picking Year 10 students. When going to the student lists, the current year 10 are showing as Year 9. Anyone any ideas?

Just to let you know the latest, which seems to line up with what was said above. SAM have said it is a SIMS issue so we are working with ESS to see if they can fix it. Text of the email sent by HR following their call.

We have two major issues in cover currently Issue 1 When a staff absence is recorded in the SAM software, it correctly transfers into SIMS personnel. The absences are not always transferring properly into Cover. The person will be on cover with no blue band over the top displaying the times absent, so cover cannot be allocated to the lessons. This is the case for some absences but not all and there doesn’t seem to be a pattern Issue 2 We have changed the times of the school day. It now runs 0830 till 1555 rather than 0850 till 1520. The times that staff are available for cover have not changed. Is there a way of changing this globally for all staff. We have changed the definition of all day in Tools-Cover-Manage Organisations. That doesn’t seem to have gone through to all staff. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks ben

Lesson change all went well with no obvious issues. Cover assignments all existed on Monday as long as they had been done after I applied the timetable.

Hi Dave I have changed the lesson times to start on Monday. I had to apply the timetable again and all cover assignments were lost (I did warn them). I don't think it has affected class memberships - will find out on Monday! Staffman

Digging up an old thread here. I need to change the cycle as what I have uploaded has had an unforseen issue with the attendance module in go4schools. If I export the timetable cycle again, I know it will knock out cover, which I have cleared with them, and that I have to send the timetable again and apply it. Will it knock out the classes already loaded if I haven't changed anything else with the timetable?

Thanks to both of you. Unfortunately we don't have the same number of lessons in each year group, Key Stage 3 are still doing 5 lessons a day, but Key Stage 4 are doing more, and not consistent across the days either.

I have taken over responsibility for timetabling as part of a team this year. There was a timetable created for the year under normal circumstances, but a second timetable was created outside SIMS to allow for bubbles, staggered start and end times etc. This is fiendishly complicated, where not all lessons are the same length and the school day is different for different days for different year groups. It was created on Excel and for half a term we have been using it as a temporary measure. With the current restrictions getting worse not better it looks like we are going to have to use it for the rest of the year (It has already been successful in Covid terms as the one case we have had resulted in 3 teachers and 20 students being told to self isolate by test and trace). I would now like to get the timetable into SIMS but I can't work out how as we would need to change the session times and lesson length during the year which is advised against. On top of this the lessons would have to be 5 minutes long to allow for all the differences and include movement times and breaks and lunches as part of the timetable! Am I biting off more than I am going to able to do? Thanks for any help.
