  1. If a company decides to focus employee time and expenditure differently, perhaps to see if as a company it can be more effective in its' communication to a large pre-existing customer base, rather than a self-selecting audience, then perhaps competitors really do have something to be concerned about.
  2. Blue subreport for attendance, no fields selected, filter applied for present attendance category & range will count the number of present marks. Also do for all marks and two numbers are provided that give the percentage easily.
  3. There are options to at least cover the requirements for GDPR, which covers the EU area of the globe.
  4. I'd generally upgrade whatever is hosting underneath first as then you don't need to wait to backup upgraded VMs before upgrading the host.
  5. Reindexing can take a while. Get the patches done then leave the reindexing running.
  6. It depends. Some areas get very contended at certain times, such as near hub roads at rush hour, but sometimes these areas have the fastest mobile transmitters. Sometimes signal is terrible, but stick the phone in the window and it's 4g+ with 3 bars. Wait for a major sporting event and you could find latency shoot up as highlights are streamed.
  7. Aggregate all the comments into a big Template. Add a Marksheet for the Year Group or Course Group. Ensure your a supervisor of the chosen groups (Pastoral Structure for Year Group, Course Manager for Course Group). The marksheet will now be "yours" and should show. Additional permissions can also allow "all marksheets" to be visible. The same applies for SIMS Teacher App
  8. Depends how you say it. The base cost replaces a server's cost. Does then £2.50pcm per £2000 pcm staff member make it sound better? I've known remote access solutions that cost more, although admittedly this is only really SIMS remote access even with the Excel and Word access within the hybrid cloud environment. Could be competitive if you can find some glue and spare letters for the missing keyboard keys on those vintage laptops. On the other hand, if you've got a working server and remote access to the network for senior leaders, maybe SIMS Teacher App? It lets teachers assess offsite at least, and do registers and conduct including offline.
  9. Well... Profiles does have a "choose comment based on assessment result" feature. If the comment happened to be the relevant letter formatted in Webdings font it could show as a tick in the final report. Profiles report templates handle assessment manager results, although not graphs, so technically other grades plus the comment of that tick or no tick could happen. I might be leaning toward a grade "/" recorded in Assessment as easier though.
  10. On the plus side all the SIMS addons that use the SIMS Service Manager for data extraction will work straight from the hosted platform, so there is potential to simplify things.
  11. Parental responsibility plus any priority can be invited to the platform, and data collection sheets only seen by those with P1 or P2. The "Lives at this address" filter is on by default, but you can open this to globally allow non-resident parents. Perhaps change to P3 those who shouldn't see. "Only see self" can also be set to prevent partners changing each others details.
