  1. Does the Senso safeguarding tools come with similar functionality to Impero Edaware and Edprotect? Our Safeguarding Office has her eyes set on Impero and refusing to look at anything else. However, we were under the impression our initial quote would include everything and now we've been slapped with additional charges for Edaware and Edprotect. If Senso's safeguarding tools has the functionailty built in, it will strengthen my case for going with Senso as the cost will come in much cheaper.
  2. Unfortunately for me, it's now been several days and I've had the same results.
  3. Hello, I'm trying to setup our G Suite so that users are provisioned from our Azure AD. I'm up to the point where I need to authorise Azure AD, I've entered the admin credentials and clicked allow, however it just gets stuck on the redirect page. Anybody dealt with this issue and any advice on how to fix it? [Edit] I figured it could be something being blocked by our web filter, so tried setting it up at home with the same results.
  4. How did you pull that one off? I didn't get through the first department before they kicked off and gave us the 'I'm not using my personal device or giving my number' excuse. These are the same numpties that would later go on to give their login details to a phishing scam >_<
  5. I'm curious to know how that works with AD.
  6. How well does it handle print jobs with large file sizes? It's something we've had a lot of issues with in the past. Sales rep from Papercut not only claims that it shouldn't be a problem with Papercut, but that we could get away with only one print server.
  7. Question regarding Senso. Are you able to mix licenses for devices? For example, we would want the enterprise package for classroom machines, however only require the Network Cloud package for Staffrooms.
  8. How are you finding the change? We've been looking at possibly moving over to Papercut, but struggling to justify the costs to SLT.
  9. Yep, same company. Thankfully all our contracts ran out during the time they stopped doing business. We found out when we tried to get in touch to renew
  10. Have you looked at Shinobi? https://shinobi.video/
  11. This. I have a PowerShell script setup on one of our servers that emails our Freshdesk support email, I then use Dispatch'r to assign groups and priority etc based on the from email and tags in the subject field.
  12. Don't you know, health and safety doesn't apply to IT staff. Or at least it feels that way sometimes.
  13. Oh god, we have this at our place and it's all my fault. People walked in and saw how many monitors I had and they all wanted a piece. What makes it worse, my manager is also the health and safety officer and insists multiple monitor users require monitor arms while also being aligned correctly. So not only do I have to set up second monitors for everybody that wants one, but I've also got to install the arms, then align them for people because expecting somebody to loosen and tighten a couple of thumbscrews is too much.
  14. @newmoon1981 We have a part-time teacher that does work at another school. When we moved to Office365, the teacher claimed we had broken their 365 account for the other school, as now they can only log into it when using computers at that school. I told them it was impossible and they should bring their laptop in to show me. They had ticked the remember me/auto sign in prompt when logging in with the account for our domain
  15. Maybe it could have a timer function that we could enable/disable? Have an option to enter the amount of minutes the exam lasts, once it expires and enters into extra time the font changes.
  16. If the issue is with work related software, such as our VPN client or connecting to our Wifi, then I'll have a look at it. I'll also go as far as recover work related documents if the system will not boot (Even if our policies state they shouldn't be storing work on personal devices). If they have problem with me saying no to anything else, I just pass them over to my manager.
  17. Sixth Form College Around 1500 Students and 150 Staff 100Mbps FTTC Around £3500 Really not enough for what we do. We've had to throttle a lot of traffic and disable Wifi for BYOD in many areas due to the connection maxing out constantly. Migrating to Office365 and the implementation of other cloud services is what caused it. Fingers crossed we'll be getting an upgrade to 1Gbps in the summer.
  18. We upgraded to SophosXG earlier this year and really wish we hadn't. Don't get me wrong, it's a great product on paper, however it just feels like a beta product and not ready for production. It was first setup as a VM machine, this was a big mistake as it kept crashing despite having more resources allocated than what was recommended. During this time, we were being audited and the auditor said that he's heard of this happening for other places. In the end we managed to blag one of their physical appliances for free, the sales guy was kind enough to upgrade it to XG 550, despite it being overkill for our environment. There was a bug with the malware scanner where it kept blocking anything coming through the filter. We had to disable it to get internet access again, this was happening for over a month before it was fixed. When it was first installed, we had issues with authenticating on our Wifi. Granted this was fixed when we were given a beta firmware to test and has been fine on all recent public updates. Enforcing Safesearch was broken for a long time and has only been fixed in a recent update. Keyword and content scanning appears to be an issue for the XG, once the list starts getting over 50 or so words, it starts to struggle a bit and has a noticeable effect on internet browsing with pages sometimes failing to load. The built-in reporting for keywords is useless and requires an external syslog/reporting server to get any useful information out of it. The support from Sophos is and always has been sub-par. We were promised at the time of our contract renewal that their customer support had been overhauled and was now much improved, however from our experience this has not been the case ever since the handover from their after-care support. It can take weeks to get a response from them and in some cases, we haven't even got a reply. There was also a situation where our network had been compromised due to a vulnerability in the XG unit, I called their support line and the person just sent me links to articles on how to block websites. There's then little complaints such as there not being an option to configure scheduled updates and restarts, something that to me is an essential, basic feature and has been available on the UTM ever since we had it. Looking at the feature request forum, it looks like users have been asking for this for years and there's still no sign of it coming to the XG, I'm not getting my hopes up that it will be implemented by the time our contract is up. I have to say though, the Firewall and Web Filter integration works great and coming from the UTM, I love the live log viewer and how easy it makes diagnosing issues.
  19. After testing, the cover sheet was still not printing. I think the issue is due to the fact we've edited the list of exam boards. Will do some further testing tomorrow to confirm, for now it's home time.
  20. You're a beautiful human being
  21. This might work better for us to be honest. With our print system, you get a prompt to confirm each print after it is sent. With the current approach that means the invigilators get two prompts when they click print (One for the document and one for the cover sheet) and in some cases, they were closing the second prompt not realising what it was for.
  22. In that case, I think there's an bug when you have it set to prompt a save after a new document is created, as the statusbar does not update until the document is saved after that prompt.
  23. It's running on the network for student exam accounts, however I have it running locally on the staff machines in the exam department and the issue is still present. When you creat a new document, the file path changes to the message, 'Use a right mouse click inside the textarea to UNDO, CUT, COPY, PASTE or SELECT ALL'. It does appear to go away when the file next saves, but would be better if this didn't happen. Maybe a setting to disable the help message? The problem I was having was with inviliglators filling the information in and then clicking OK so it goes onto the blank page. I suppose it's just a user issue. Thanks.
  24. Hey, We started our Mocks this week and things have been going well with the software. Just a few bits of feedback from the invigilators - It doesn't appear to always be printing a cover sheet. I know I tested printing on the older version and this was fine, maybe a bug on the latest version? - It takes a few minutes for the file path to appear on the bottom bar, could this be changed so it's instant? This way Invigilators can check that it's saved to the right place straight away and help the exam department when they're printing off multiple documents at a time - Would it also be possible to have the student's name appear on the screen somehow, such as a pop-up window? This would be a nice to have when there's a seating plan in the room and getting students in the correct place. - Is it possible to have spell check working as soon as the document is opened? It seemed to confuse a few people, thinking it would mark the spelling straight away Thanks.
  25. Nice one. In time for us to test before our Mock exams start next month
