Hi, there is another solution for you to disable PDF reader in Microsoft Edge: go to settings -> apps -> default apps -> Choose default apps by file type. You will see the default app is arranged with the file type accordingly. To change it, just click Edge and change the PDF reader as Adobe Reader DC or else.

It will be a nice trick to avoid the crash problem by disabling the default PDF reader. By the way, anyone of you who needs to change the default PDF reader in Windows 10 may don't know how to do it. Actually, it is very easy via Settings, Context Menu and Control Panel.
