About computer

  1. Hi thanks for that. I just realised what I'd been doing wrong (duh!). so I have a VVP account, a main iTunes account which I used to download apps from iTunes into AC1.7, I also had another apple Id which I used on all the ipads! So now that I got asked for the iTunes account I took my time to read it properly entered in th correct ID and it now opens up the google drive app. Going to redownlad garagband and try that now
  2. Right I see! The issue is that apple are only making available the latest versions on the app stores and these are not compatible with my ipads. Would I be able to use the vpp account on the ipads when I erase it? so if there are apps which are compatible I can still use them? if the above is not possible do I have to setup an iTunes ID for each device individually and get it to download from the app store?
  3. Ok so I thought it was only with garageband but I was wrong. i'm having to install 1 or 2 apps at a time to the iPad. for some reason it doesn't install them if I select a few. I installed Google Drive and Toontastic Jr from the local drive. These apps installed but when I run them it asks to sign into iTunes and then when I do all I get is a black screen or the app closes. Tried several times to install/uninstall. I'm assuming apple somehow are not letting the old version of the apps run on the iPads if there is a new version available.( just a thought could be wrong) I'm also going to tell staff that if they want any new apps then we need to buy need devices. Would you say this is reasonable?
  4. also same issue here with having to 'Sign in to iTunes Store' . This is only happening to garage band version 2.0.6 which I add from the MAC( not from VPP as this has the new version). the new version of garage band is not compatible with 9.3.5
  5. Yep. I'm beginning to get a few of these apps saying you need version 10...blah blah. We just have ipad minis on version 9.3.5 so we are basically snookered. Tehre is an option to take the app from the local MAC but even they want to run properly especially garageband! Thanks for your help so far. i'll trudge along best as I can
  6. Thanks for that. I tried that and it seemed to do the trick so I thought i'll erase everything from the ipad , remove the profiles from the blue print and just leave the apps. it took a while to do and during this time I got a couple of apps saying they had no more copies and to use VPP to get more, a few said they require OS 10.3. This is the strange bit ...all the standard apple stuff shows up but the apps I choose show up in a dark colour ( all of them saying waiting). I disconnected the ipad once it finished. restarted it. now the apps show their names but they are dark and when I click them it says waiting. this is happening for all apps. Also it takes a while to download the apps. Are the apps not downloaded once onto the MAC and the AC picks them from there? that's how it was with AC1
  7. Yes I wiped the ipads. it removed all the previous apps. so basically I set it up as a new ipad
  8. Previously I was using AC1 with iTunes and VPP. it was all working fine. I had policy restrictions on the iPads so the pupils could not install new one nor uninstall old ones. I would connect the ipads to the MAC book and then remove them( in supervised mode). However I have since upgraded to AC 2.5 I have set the setting to not allow deleting/installing of apps. So when I trried to install apps using AC 2.5 it would let me saying I had restrictions on. I therefore allowed removing/installing of the apps. so now pupils are able to hold down the icons and click the x to remove the app and also they can go to the app store and download new apps( although they will need the password which they are not going to get!) I want to simply: be able to install apps and remove them using AC 2.5 I don't want pupils to be able to use the app store to install apps or remove them Its probably something silly but I can't figure out what I'm missing or not selecting
  9. Hi Yes apple converted the codes to managed distribution. I have signed into AC 2.5 with my VPP login. I created a new blue to which I applied newly created profiles, 1 profile contains web clips, 1 profile contains security certificates and the final one contains restrictions. all apply successfully. I have added the aps to the blueprint. al the apps are added in via the VPP login. They show up on the iPad but some just say waiting. I then have to righ click and select add app, select the app I want to re-push out. this then installs. this means I have to do this for almost every single app. I've only tested this with one ipad and I've got like 90 plus ipads
  10. Hi, I updated iTunes, found out it doesn't support app downloading etc. was using AC1 and Yosemite OS. upgraded to MacOS Sierra and AC2.5. Apple migrated all the codes. I've tried applying the migrated blueprints but keep getting error like the app could not be installed/uninstalled due to restrictions. I have since then created new blueprints and profiles. however when I apply the blue prints the some apps just say waiting and other look like they have installed but when I run them all I get is a black screen. I have to close the app by pressing on the home button and then swiping. then I relaunch the app and sometimes it works but most of the time I just get a black screen. If I add the app individually it then installs and seems to work. my ipads are running version 9.3.5. I also download the google Drive app from the vpp account( this says it is compatible with my version on the ipad) however when I install it I get an error saying configurator could not install "drive" on iPad one. the device does not support this app. This is nonsense because I have been using this before! Please help
