John Port School, Etwall, Derby wishes to appoint an IT System Supervisor
Local Government Salary Point: G6 Point 26-30. (The salary range would be £23166 to £26556). Full time (37hours per week), permanent, 52 weeks per year.
John Port School is a good school with an outstanding Sixth Form. The Governors are looking to appoint a flexible, hard-working and enthusiastic individual to support the running, organising and development of the schools IT resources.
The job requires practical skills, good judgement and excellent interpersonal skills.
John Port School is a large site with several buildings and extensive grounds, with IT equipment installed throughout the site all linked by the IT network. The IT System Supervisor will be expected to manage the schools software infrastructure in collaboration with the Network Supervisor, support users of the IT equipment, develop a knowledge of the school’s main IT systems and install and test equipment to specification. The IT System Supervisor will also assist with the changeover to cloud storage.
Excellent IT knowledge (to include an understanding of the Windows environment and networks), the ability to work as part of a team, good organisational skills and the ability to use initiative are essential.
