Will try installing when I get home, hopefully my gnome desktop still works, I've been using kde recently.
-
Personally I like debian for server and older desktop use. Free also.
-
print out some of the comic strips from userfriendly.org
-
*grumbles angrily*
-
What bit of kde does it depend on? Qt? Kdelibs? dcop? Might be able to hack it a bit to run on gnome
-
Woooo, probably still no good on dialup though?
-
Plain old mkisofs and cdrecord mostly, sometimes k3b if I feel like using a gui. Best thing about mkisofs and cdrecord: quick, simple, powerfull. Best thing about k3b: Integrates with amaroK (Burn this album to disc, etc)

Could it be that they dont have the stuff to use vbscript locally? Maybe you have visual studio installed and they dont or something?

*Gets out the witch-hunter's kit* Btw: anyone got any good screenshots?
-
I must remember that one

reset bios, not entirely sure how to do that on a laptop, I am guessing that the main battery is the only battery, so remove, leave for a while and then try again.

hehe, people wanting pdf export will still have to use openoffice interesting read, XPS looks like just another pointless m$ format, but still, might be interesting, wonder if anyone has created an open-source viewer for it yet, i guess not until a version is released so people can get their hands on some files to try and view

Also, having just taken apart this random optical mouse for no reason: If you undo the screws and lift out the board, you can probably just clean it with a cloth or by hand.
-
might be interesting just to see how poor it is hope the graphics card requirements are less than the desktop version, noone is going to want to buy a big graphics card for a server.
-
paper-clip maybe, carefull not to scratch the lense though btw: the words lovely and microsoft should never be allowed in the same sentence.
-
also, a more elegant soloution might be to use `find -name user.txt` instead of `find |grep user.txt` Just correcting my own suggestion again
-
btw: you may wish to change it to user.txt$ rather than user.txt, that way it wont care if for some reason you have a dir named user.txt, or, as . matches any charachter in regexs, if you had a dir named userFtxt
-
in linux/unix, this will work for file in `find|grep user.txt`; do echo "whatever" >> $file done
-
ok, now i have to go watch this, must wait 6 months for download
-
There are female geeks? Wow, my whole outlook on life has changed now
-
either scroll lock twice or num lock twice works for me.
-
I would watch, but too little bandwidth
-

-

Lost the net for most of yesterday, not good... Surprisingly few teachers seemed to notice though...
