Hi People, I was wondering if anyone out there has had any experience deploying a large scale of Miracast adaptors. We’ve ktited out about 50 rooms with the Microsoft Wireless Display Adaptor v2 and we are using Miracast enabled laptops for connectivity to projectors. We’ve been trialling these for a few weeks now and finding a lot of random issues, with the devices requiring multiple attempts to connect to the WiDi adaptor, the connection randomly dropping and numerous errors saying that the wireless network is operating on a different channel to the wireless display adaptor itself. The staff testing it are reverting back to cabling themselves back in and being tethered to their desks which means we are failing to deliver what we set out for which is giving them the freedom to move around the room whole projecting on screen and tidying up the look of the classrooms by eventually removing the cabling. So my plea for help, if anyone had any experience of these devices on a large scale and any pointers in where to go from here I’d much appreciate it. Devices are the Lenovo Yoga and the Surface Pro 4 running Windows 10 64bit Pro and Enterprise editions, the issues appear to be occurring across all devices and current builds (10240 thru to 1607) We’ve not attempted the anniversary update yet. Hi, Sorry to reactivate an old thread, but is this method still working for you? I have a similar setup where we're moving to SOLUS3 but half my clients are off site for the summer holiday so deploying via startup script would really solve the problem of setting the SOLUS install when they are all back at the start of the school year. I tried your solution above but no joy, just wondering if anything has changed since then as its looks like this was about a year ago? Cheers

I saw a good looking alternative to MSS at BETT this year, unfortunately I left the bag that had the leaflet on the train so cannot remember the name. It was quite a small stand on the far right of the hall (looking in from the entrance), looked like MSS but could be made full screen and believe it was a wbe hosted solution. If anyone knows what I'm on about I'd be interested to know who they were, cant seem to find any proper support for MSS now and its pretty dated, the science dept here use it religiously but its starting to become more troublesome as time goes on.

Berghaus or Brasher get my vote too, I'm a scout leader and regularly use my berghaus boots when hiking or camping. Brasher walking shoes are what I wear to work daily and takes about a year of wearing 5-7 days a week for 9+ hours a day before they wore down. My boots are about 5 years old and still got a lot of life left in them. Goretex is definitely reccommended! Used to be a big fan of Karrimor too but their recent stuff has been rubbish, probobly why theyre now massively discounted at sports direct, nowhere near the quality they were in the late 90's.

I know sted's reply above was said it was for XP only but I tried it on a Win7 client and low and behold it worked. Before I deploy this to my network, was there any specific reason this shouldnt be aplied to 7, or just it hadn't been tested?

Whoops, forgot to mention the OS, they're Windows 7 machines.

We've got a head scratcher here at the moment. We deploy pretty much all of our software and updates through Group policy and MSI packages, but we've noticed that with some new Lenovo T430 laptops, no group policys are applying when they are on wireless. Not only software installs/updates, but also startup scripts and proxy settings etc. Logon scripts appear to work fine however! I have checked that the 'Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon' and 'allow processing over a slow connection' is enabled but this does not appear to solve the issue. As soon as we restart with the device plugged into a network cable, all the installs and scripts/updated policies install perfectly. We have never had this issue deploying to wireless devices before so i am thinking it may be something to do with something in these new machines specifically as older ones are still picking things up nicely. If anyone has any ideas I'd be grateful to hear them, got a flash update to rollout and cant be handling 60 staff needing to plug their laptops into a free network socket to pick it up. Ah the joys of the start of the school year!

Hi, We have a new build happening this summer holiday (ground being broken this Saturday) and I thought it'd be nice to give the head a time lapse video of the build in September, but keeping the idea to myself at the moment in case I cannot manage it. Just wondering if anyone knew of a good PoE web cam and piece of software that wont break the bank and i can basically switch on and leave it be for the whole summer break, preferably sub £200 for the camera, free-ware software if at all possible, we have a few Microsoft life-cams i could set p on a laptop if it came to it, but would feel like i had to check the program was still running every day. Would welcome any ideas, i figured someone somewhere may have done something like this before and there's no point re-inventing the wheel! Cheers

Hi There, I am having the exact same problem after migrating my users to a new server, did you find a solution for this? Thankfully only used offline files on my staff laptops and not every computer, but i only have 2 more working days before the staff come back after xmas! Cheers!
