  1. Hi Yes we use Impero. We are printing this to our Secure staff copier. I have never seen it before on any other prints so it is a bit weird. Thanks for your help I will have a look at Impero first. Thanks it was Impero.
  2. Hopefully that will show you the bottom of the page.
  3. Hi We are just about to use this for our Exam season and it looks very useful thank you. I have done a test print and below the bottom line with date page and signature are 2 lines that have the date, time, computer name and username printed. Is there something in the config that can prevent this or does anyone have any ideas what is causing it? Thanks
  4. Hi We have a very very old version of HAP (7.9 ish) running perfectly happily on a 2008 server (Thanks Nick). We only use Hap for the basic file access for our students who still use their network areas and shared areas and it works absolutely fine. I cannot remember anything I did to get it working as it was a long time ago so I will be a complete newbie effectively! I want to setup a new 2019 server (VM) and install the latest version of HAP that I can get working. I will go through the necessary pain and testing this involves as it has been such a fantastic product for us but I would obviously now like to use an up to date version and hopefully some of the extra features it has. Is the latest version (10.6) working successfully on Server 2019 for anyone? Would you recommend going to the latest OS and version of HAP or is the Azure part, which I have not done anything with before, going to make it complicated for me or in fact would I be better with Server 2016? Thanks
  5. Hi Thanks Steve for that very thorough and useful information. Glad I am not the only one with issues. Fortunately our ISP are very helpful and do try to help us find solutions to the problems, it just feels that trying to get apps working is a never ending issue.
  6. Hi At present support have said that the solution would be to move to Quantum as we are still on Fusion. Could anybody who has Quantum confirm for me please whether Playstore and Google maps are able to work without having to allow google.com through? Thanks
  7. I can bypass ssl inspection but I do not want that as I would be concerned about the safeguarding aspect. Thanks
  8. Hi We are with EXA networks and have a Stormshield firewall managed by them as part of the agreement. On the wired network everything is absolutely fine. We have however had many issues on the wireless network because of ssl encryption. We have a realtime monitor that can sometimes help to identify a url that needs allowing through the firewall to enable apps to work but it rarely shows any issues. When this happens we have to contact exa and they can inspect it in more detail and sometimes find the issue, put it in the exception list and all is well with that app. We are finding more and more issues though and they are not being resolved. Our current main problem seems to be anything google related. At present we are struggling with the play store and maps. We are told that it is because google keep changing things and obviously you can't just allow google.com through the firewall as although that does resolve all of the issues it then opens us up to being able to type anything into google search engine and see pretty much anything! I know that these ssl problems are current issues that lots of people are experiencing but I just can't believe that each school has to jump through the same hoops to try and work out what to exclude just so they can have a good wifi experience. Are these issues handled more easily with smoothwall/Sophos XG etc..? Does anybody have the lists of exceptions required for google maps and the play store? Do other EXA network users experience the same issues? We have very good Meraki wifi coverage at school but because of the ssl encryption issues all I hear from many staff and pupils is that we have "rubbish wifi". The ones who persevere and come to see me so that we can find exclusions to their problem apps are happy with their wifi experience but many people just are not prepared to spend the time getting it resolved as they think it should "just work" like it does at home or in cafes etc.. How do you all overcome these issues? I appreciate that some people do not use ssl encryption for their wifi and certainly if we did bypass it then we would have a much more satisfactory wifi experience however we are not happy that this covers our safeguarding responsibilities satisfactorily so will not do this. Any suggestions/advice gratefully received. Thanks
  9. Ah sorry!! Birmingham.

  11. Hi I work with Ben and thought you might like to know the solution to this issue. The board was in a maths room and they had a clock with led lights plugged in at the front of the class. It seems the lights from this were bouncing back from the glass windows of the cupboards at the back of the room. Turned the clock off and all was ok again!! We sent the diagnostics report to smart and from that they asked about lights, specifically led lights which led us to spot the clock. Carolyn
  12. Hi Yes Arthur that is what we are thinking of. I imagined setting certain key folders to be encrypted and then each time a user needs to access files in those specific folders they would have to enter a separate password. FN-GM What do you use to encrypt everything? Thanks for all the responses so far I appreciate your help and advice. Thanks
  13. The Data Protection Officer is wanting a greater level of security for certain levels of personal data. - - - Updated - - - Multiple users might need to be able to access it at the same time not necessarily for writing though.
  14. Hi We are looking for a good method that we can use to encrypt specific folders on the network, for example certain HR folders. Obviously these are only available to the HR department however we would like to ensure really sensitive information has an extra level of security. We want an easy system and we do not want there to be other consequences such as Backup issues with these folders and we would obviously need some form of overriding key that could be used in case of emergency to ensure people do not lock themselves out of the data accidentally. We need it to be simple for the users concerned so that the process is always followed and fits into a normal workflow. Any recommendations? Thanks
  15. Hi We are looking for either some advice or a recomendation of an expert who might be able to help us troubleshoot an issue we have The main symptom of the issue is that Google Chrome and to a lesser extent IE take quite a while to load up (20 secs to 1 minute regularly and on occasion longer and then are really pretty slow opening new websites. It feels as if it is more related to ssl sites and you will often see the messages in the info bar saying "resolving url xxx" and it will scroll slowly through the various urls that go to make up the page. Sites like Twitter, TES Jobs, News sites are particular bad examples. The first load of the page is generally worse then when you reload the page again a bit later. Sometimes you will get the browser saying unresponsive and are unable to click anything then it will all kick back into life again. It can happen everywhere but it is not consistent. It can happen to everyone but it is not always terribly bad. Every now and again a whole class may struggle to get web pages up in any sort of reasonable time so the lesson is ruined in these cases In the early stages we thought it was internet related however our ISP, and to a certain extent further testing, have ruled that out. We have had a networking report done and nothing has shown up there. We have been improving switches as much as we can and have vlanned the macs off our predominantly flat network. We have a 1gb infrastructure but hope to move to 10gb in time. If we knew 10gb would solve the issue we would move but I am not convinced it would. When we have the unresponsive browser issue we generally can browse the network very quickly so that doesn't really make much sense for a networking issue. Some people see an improvement when they reset the chrome browser however not all. I think that a non-domain joined machine does not experience the problem so much however as it is an inconsistent problem that is not definitive. So could problem gpos result in these issues? We have looked for dns issues but have not found anything wrong. Nothing obvious shows up on wireshark. I have run procmon while opening chrome and loading a few pages and of course you see thousands and thousands of lines and I am not really sure what to look for or if that would even identify anything. We seem to be going round in circles at the moment and I would like to form a plan of action as to how to proceed to identify the issue. Reports back from staff are very inconsistent so tests with different settings do not always give helpful results. I think I probably need an expert to come on site to see it happening and run tests and know exactly what to look for to identify the issue. Can anyone recomend such a person/company? Or has anyone seen similar issues and have anything to suggest? Thanks
  16. Hi We see this issue also. Where is the option to turn this off in the GPO I am struggling to find it at the moment. Thanks
  17. Hi Yes I spotted that and changed it but to no avail unfortunately. I am assuming the setup.aspx file has a problem and this may not have been used for some time. I have though found a temporary work around by creating a new user with the old admin password and changing the hapconfig file to the new user. Not a final solution but it works for the moment. I will also do as you suggest and change the permissions on the setup file anyway. Not really sure where to start though looking for the error in the setup file. Thanks
  18. Hi the first image didn't upload so here it is:
  19. Here they are:- The first was just the true for first run the second was already like this so I didn't change it at all.
  20. Hi Thanks for responding so quickly. I have tried that but now if get the following:- Sorry :-(
  21. Hi We are using a very old version of hap as it has always done just what it needs to do. We have just started getting the following error when any user tries to logon, which looks remarkably similar to the opening post:- I have tried restoring the web.config file but that does not seem to have worked. We have recently changed our domain admin password which is the only thing that has been done that I am aware of. Please could somebody advise whether there is somewhere that I have to reenter the Administrator password? I cannot remember having to do it before however it is the only thing I can think of. Thanks
  22. Hi It is a windows server providing the radius but I cannot find those event ids at all.
  23. Hi We currently use EXA as our ISP with a Stormshield (Netasq) firewall and Meru wifi . Stormshield can report on internet access for users, and ip addresses for all domain devices but only ip address for lan wifi devices. We have a LAN ssid on our wifi which authenticates via radius and all of this works fine apart from the reporting. There is a Netasq SSO agent installed on the server that picks off the logon events and obtains the username. This gets the domain devices but not those that have been authenticated via Radius. EXA are unable to help any further but they say we can use the captive portal on the Stormshield box to enter the network details, and if we do this it does report correctly. However it is a really naff portal and it would mean everyone would have to log back into their wifi every day. Is this something that you all do anyway? With our normal wifi Lan logon once you are in you are in and you do not need to log back in every day. Does anyone know how we can get those logon events reported on the DC? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
  24. Thanks again Joanne and Matt for your help and advice. I have found that it stems back to Windows Media Player from the old days. All is good now :-)
  25. You are sir a genius :-) The old proxy was showing. Thank you is now works. Where could that be coming from as we haven't used a proxy for a few years. IE does not show a proxy present and I do not know of anywhere else that does.
