  1. Skills This is a hands on position and all the Team members work alongside each other on projects to ensure the job is completed efficiently and to a high standard. Some of the key skills we require are: - Experience in supporting IT in a controlled environment and previous experience of working in a professional team and supporting day to day developments. - Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows 2012 Server skills. Use of Active Directory user and computer management, group policy and Office 365 skills are desirable. - Experience with virtualised environments is desirable but not essential. (HyperV) - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. - Experience in the education sector is desirable but not essential. The role We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and suitably experienced IT Technician to support the school’s IT systems. You will be joining a new dynamic team comprised of a full time Network Manager, a full time Senior Deskside Engineer and a term time only Deskside Engineer/Helpdesk Co-ordinator. You will work collaboratively to ensure the smooth operation of the day-to-day running of the School’s network to support the delivery of an innovative curriculum, ensuring that the ICT infrastructure of George Abbot School is able to support the administrative services for it to remain effective, efficient and best value. The role includes a variety of key technical and administrative tasks to support the 2000+ users, a breakdown of which can be found in the candidate information pack available on our website. Employer George Abbot is one of the founder members of GEP Academies - a newly formed cross-phase Multi Academy Trust which currently comprises of 5 schools with more looking to join in the near future.
