Ah, ok. So if you've entered the password then SSO failed, which i got it to map the drive for myself as well if i manually entered the password. But that's using a cached token held within App data so i suppose if you had %appdata% redirected to a server and had it full down that token you should be fine. If you try to use SSO with AD Connect with OneDrive mapper it fails to map the drive.

How did u manage to get the OneDrive mapper to work? We've been using SSO via the ADConncet but so far have been unable to get it to work. We can see its signing into the portal just fine but access is being denied for the mapped drive with error 224 even though its in the trusted internet zones.

I've had mine running on a mixture of 1511 and 1607 machines for a while now, the startmenu xml is located on the dc on a random share //dc/redirections$/ we also have the desktop and start menu as in all apps redirected aswell from a different share on the file server so and have noticed no issues with it since i set it up a while back. We did have an issue where the start menu fails to open but that was linked to old gpos relating back to windows 7 so i've removed most of them and recreated them for windows 10

It should work, i've got an R610 sitting on my server room with server 2016 installed on it. Im also using it as a HV host to run some windows 7 and ubuntu vms on it.

We've just had a meeting going over something similar. According to papercut we're averaging around 15k pages per day and end up about 90k per quarter over what the printers can actually handle. We have 2 of the biggest machines from Konica Minolta in repro and those jam ever other week which an engineer needs to come out and fix. On top of that we have 6 smaller printers in each department but those also break alot aswell. The one suggestion we had was go for a print production copier but those are crazy expensive and we dont have room to store it or move to 3 of their largest machines for our repro room.

Just as an update everything i tried failed and traffic was still going out on those ips. In the end we've ended up creating local dns zones for am.microsoft.com and msn.com and pointing them to localhost. This will do for now until we can block it at a level using something like smoothwall or something similar.

If you're running that you want to make sure you tweak it as it could remove some of the default apps like photo viewer or calculator that are needed.

Yea should have mentioned that, provisioned apps will be installed for the user the first time they sign in and installed apps are the current installed apps for that user. It's best to unprovision the apps you dont need and then uninstall them all.

If you run remove-appxprovisionedpackage -packagename Microsoft.Office.OneNote_17.7369.57831.0_x64__8wek yb3d8bbwe what does powershell feedback to you? if that works run remove-appxpackage -packagename Microsoft.Office.OneNote_17.7369.57831.0_x64__8wek yb3d8bbwe or get-appxpackage "onenote" | remove-appxpackage then rerun sysprep until you have no more errors.

Cant seem to workout what is causing the issue but we're having really high bandwidth usage since moving to windows 10. All traffic seems to be going out to a Akamai CDN node which we assume is hosting something for microsoft? maybe windows updates? We've got all cloud content disabled via gpo We've changed the lockscreen to our own image. We are disabling the ips at a firewall level but need to move away from this as they keep changing. We are unable to block the traffic via our web filtering as it does not allow you to block sites via the domain name which is annoying. I have noticed the machines are updating themselves to 1607 from 1511 randomly so i assume this could be the reason fro the high bandwidth. Cheers, Jack

It will be down to people printing that are not part of a department. I'd go back and triple check that all users are assigned to a department and you've got the bill going to the department rather than their personal account.

On a side note, how did u get the downloads and other icons on the start panel?

Sorry if i've misunderstood but does he not really have what you've suggested? apart from the fact hes got year of entry rather than users as a whole?

Hi Guys Going to create a new reference image for windows 10 1607 but before i start i would like to remove the default apps via powershell using SCCM and a task sequence but dont know where to add it or how, had a look at the following guide but my task looks nothing like that. Tested that out last night with our print server, came back today and its successfully applying the mono printer again! Thank you soo bloody much, was pulling my hair out over this one.

Tbf for all the hassle its going to cause and the amount of kids that love to ddos servers you're better off renting a dedicated server from a company and using that. Depending on the game servers / voice servers you want to host you might as well look at something like OVH / So You Start for your hosting. If people ddos your home line im sure BT won't be impressed.

Thanks for the video, i'd rather like to avoid using print management if possible since we are using papercut. It makes no sense that all the other printers work fine apart from this one driver which the clients are unable to location unless you do it manually.

Yes its on a brand new server running 2012 R2. Only installed the 64 Bit Drivers as we only have 64 bit clients. Works fine for all other printers apart from this one driver which is being a pain. We are deploying via a gpo but i have manually done it via the \\servername and via the control panel. The machine will pull the driver down with no issues if you manually do it via \\servername but not via gpo.

Not sure if this is a windows 10 issue or a server 2012 R2 issue but we've moved over to papercut over the past week and were having a small issue with mapping one printer using a mono only driver. Mapping the drives via a user gpo works fine for all the other printers but this mono only driver will not deploy. The error message we keep seeing in the event viewer is that the system cant find the driver needed but if you path to the printer manually it pulls down and installs the driver without issues. Anyone got an ideas?

Cheers, was missing KB2919442! One that was installed 2919355 went on no problem. Now i've got 254 updates to finish off installing!

Hi Abaxter2 thanks for the reply. Having a look at it this is being a bit a of pain, i cant get patch 2919355 to install so the other updates are not showing! Any idea's?
