Our licence supplier has stated we have to sign up to a three year plan for the extended support, therefore works out at £7.50 per device for three years. Has anyone else came across this is or have you simply been offered a 1 year option?

We are using MyLogin "Magic Badges" - QR Codes for pupils to log into the Chromebooks, would highly recommend. 2 form Primary School.

I have experience with ClassVR with Primary Schools, found the charging trolley a little troublesome compared to the portable cases with cable extensions/adapters. The resources available within their portal are great and is always being added too. I think it works best when embedded into the curriculum, therefore teachers need to incorporate the VR resources into the planning and create/share playlists in advance.

I've had similar issues with a batch of Asus Chromebooks, I've been lucky so far to get the repaired/replaced under warranty. Might be worth a check?

Thanks for reply Sted, there are currently Windows 7 Group Policies in place, however the students use mandatory profiles. I have logged on as a student and can access for instance C:\, add/remove programs, browse network to look for network shares. It may well be the Windows 7 group policies are not that good either!

I have recently taken over the IT support of a Primary School, the school purchased 30 new laptops from one company who never actually considered the server configuration and Group Policy. The previous IT Support company refused to assist the school in protest on them not purchasing the laptop through them, and the company that sold them now want to charge additional professional services days to sort Group Policy which I believe they should have considered/completed from day one. As a result I have 30 new Windows 10 laptops with no Group Policies configured, I am reluctant to allow the student to use them as no restrictions. The school currently have a Windows Server 2008 R2 physical server, I was wondering whether anyone would be willing to assist with me perhaps sharing their Group Policies for students please? I am keen to get the laptops in use asap whilst ensuring they cannot access anything and everything!

I was wondering what school using Google Chrombooks use for monitoring please? For the Windows devices we have Policy Central in place however, the software does not currently support Chromebooks. Therefore, from a safeguarding point of view (OFSTED) how do schools monitor their Google devices please?
