I've made that change but it is still giving me that error, despite adding the url as you described in the client configuration.

I've got the manifest assigned it's just not automatically downloading the updates.

Hi I have set up Munki on our Mac server and have it configured to a test client. But it will not automatically install software. If I open up the Managed Installs app that munki installs on the clients it will find software updates with no problems but I have to manually press Update to have the mac download and install them. Ideally I want the mac to download the updates when not in use and idle (like it should) however I have only managed to get it to work by bootstrapping the mac which downloads updates as soon as it powers on which is not ideal. Any ideas? Cheers

That would be far too easy! At least making them supervised slightly locks them down.

I don't seem to be able to see that, I can get to /Library/Preferences/ and then I just have a ManagedInstalls.plist file

That worked for me and I've managed to change the settings. However I still have no luck with the clients accessing the munki updates

Thanks for the reply. When I look at the settings it show that the SoftwareRepoURL = "http://munki/repo" Which doesn't seem to be correct? When i try to change this path i get the message: "Rep argument is not a dictionary" No idea what that means, but it wont allow me to change any settings, even when using sudo before the command.

A slight development, from following the guide I get a 404 not found when navigating to http://localhost/repo/ However, if I navigate to the Mac server's domain name, I can see the Index of / page with the repository links. Does anyone know which command I need to change to get the clients to communicate with the server?

I use Configurator 2 to lock the wallpapers and auto enroll them into our OS X Server where they are added to the departments' group. The apps are then assigned and pushed across automatically according to the groups the iPads are in.

Still stuck on this, The web server looks correct however i believe this to be the source of the problem. I've followed the link and when I navigate to http://localhost/repo/ I get 404 Not found. There must be one step holding it back from working.

I deploy a Web Clip app using Profile manager, there's and option to add them under iOS /Web Clips. I've tried hiding the settings app on our supervised iPads and it makes the task fail. Cannot work out why...

Thanks for the reply. I believe its back to normal again. Not 100% sure on what solved it but seems ok now.

It seems to be completely random. Some users can get documents on certain macs but not others on the same Macs.

3s-gtech, and that's being generous. We think we have managed to get it back to how we had the server. I removed the network settings from the profile manager and the settings pushed across. No idea why the server decided to break and remove the Apple push notifications setting....

The server was setup with DNS running. We have now turned the service off and it makes no difference. Any ideas?

Mustang, I haven't been able to access an account having the issue yet, but will try again asap. At the moment I cannot push settings across to the Macs and no one can log in due to the clients not connecting correctly to the directory on the Mac server. One thing I have noticed is that on the DNS I have input the IP addresses of the Windows DNS servers. And have also had to put in the loop back address as if I remove it, it seems to break the whole setup and I cannot even access the profile manager settings...

I was going through each of the settings this morning and on the settings tab the APN had been unchecked. Just done as you said and some of the macs are succeeding. Although its doing it in a strange way where the settings fail to push but the Update info Succeeds.

Sometimes we get the error saying that cannot connect to the server. But most of the time it just logs in and doesn't map the drive. The home path looks correct and all using same version of El Captian. How did you wipe the library file? Can this be deployed from the server or would i have to do this for every client individually?

Just tried your suggestion of a permissions repair and we have some slight progress. The push setting change from Pending to In progress, however they now all fail...

Certificates are all well in date, server is white-listed and time is correct. No changes were made to the server, it just decided not to work after the weekend.

For some reason unknown to us our OS X Server just stopped working last week. It would not let us view the profile manager on Safari as we couldn't connect to the secure proxy, (We don't have this setup so no idea why this appeared) Managed to tweak some network settings so that we could get into profile manager, but now no settings or apps are pushed across. They just sit at Pending indefinitely. Anyone have any ideas? Cheers
