  1. Couple of links for you: Installing Moodle - MoodleDocs Hardware * Disk space: 160MB free (min). You will require more free space to store your teaching materials. * Memory: 256MB (min), 1GB (recommended). The general rule of thumb is that Moodle can support 50 concurrent users for every 1GB of RAM, but this will vary depending on your specific hardware and software combination. o This includes hosting limits of PHP or MySQL on a hosting service. o The capacity can limit the number of users your Moodle site can handle. Also see: User site capacities - MoodleDocs Essentially its about concurrent users and also running the background cron process.
  2. Moodle Moot 2011 was announced a few weeks ago now, you can read the official announcement here on the ULCC website: =111&tx_ttnews[backPid]=577&cHash=abe41fb79c"]Official Announcement As well as the main moot there will also be an additional days pre-moot unconference developer lead event. Specifically aimed at attracting Moodle Developers and allowing them to share ideas, code, discuss and meet other like minded individuals. Using the unconference format will allow for the attendees to set the agenda for the day, something a little less formal then your typical lectures/presentations etc.. You can pre-register, and register interest in the pre-moot unconference here: MOOTUK11 By pre-registering you will be first to know when tickets go on sale, tickets were very quickly snapped up last year so if you are planning on attending I'd get signed up! Hope to see you there
  3. Agree with gshaw, 2.0 isnt going to be a viable option for a while yet and ill also be waiting for 2.1.
  4. You can also look at Groupcall which is a commercial product: Groupcall - supplies Communication and data extraction tools to the Education, Public and business sectors.
  5. Top tip, in my opinion, use the Feedback activity. Think its included in 1.9 core?
  6. My suggestion with Large SCORM files is to extract the contents of the zip on the server before you try and add it as a SCORM activity. Do you have access to the server? If you do try unzipping the SCORM file on the server, then in Moodle adding a SCORM object and pointing Moodle at the imsmanifest.xml file. Other than that i'd go back to the supplier and ask if they have tested with Moodle?
  7. Another bump for you time to vote: Standards Based Moodle Themes: NewSchool Learning Pretty please!
  8. Thanks, hoping to make some improves based on feedback from the competition and seeing what others are doing with 2.0. There are still some niggles with the theme engine in 2.0 which should be ironed out in the coming weeks. Thanks for your support!
  9. The theme competition is now open for voting!! Those EduGeek Moodlers out there, i'd appreciate your time to vote. Here are all the themes: Standards Based Moodle Themes: NewSchool Learning Lookout for the Edumoodle theme and feel free to vote, dont be fooled by the other very similar theme. Thanks!

  11. Some of you may remember that I created a moodle theme that matched the original Joomla EduGeek Package. See here: EduMoodle Themes Some of you liked it and even downloaded it and used it with your Moodle's. For the record my server logs tell me the original EduMoodle theme has been downloaded nearly 20,000 times in the last 2 years!!! With Moodle 2.0 fast approaching I thought it was the perfect time to upgrade the theme for Moodle 2.0. Each night after work i've been busy making the required changes, as well as fixing some issues with the theme, and making some improvements. Coninsidentally these changes happened to conincide with a Moodle Theme competition, winner gets an iPad and votes are generated by the Moodle Community. Also all themes submitted get to be included in Moodle 2.0 core!! <--Cool part The competition is now closed and I entered the Edumoodle theme, you can take a peek at the new theme and its features here: Moodle 2.0 Preview Release 4 Currently I cant release a login so you can have a real play but as soon as the competition has been run i'll be making some bug fixes and releasing it here!

  15. Last night I setup a Server 2003 (Old Skool) box and installed Apache, MySql and PHP. I now realise I should probably install MySql on a seperate box, does anyone have a link to documentation or tutorial on how to do this? I'll also need a file server as well so any links or guideance on that would be helpful. All 3 boxes will need to contact each other as well.
  16. Which browser are you using?
  17. Have a look at the source of the page and see if you can find the links used to the images that are missing and see if the exisit in the location. You can add custom icons into your theme, check your theme for a pix folder, or check config.php for the Theme you are using and see if custompix = yes?
  18. Nadeem I've sent you an email.
