  1. .BIN does not apply to Win10, the only option is XML nowadays.
  2. We've just blocked it with the following GPO: User Config -> Admin Templates -> Control Panel -> Prohibit Access to Control Panel and PC Settings
  3. That's the culprit then. Setting copyprofile to false will solve the issue with the start menu almost guaranteed.
  4. Was CopyProfile set to true when sysprepping? This can cause the start menu to break. We spent a week battling this issue when testing our deployment.
  5. Are you using AppLocker at all?
  6. I've got a personal laptop running Windows 10 just fine on a Pentium T4200 Dual Core and 4GB RAM. It's a bit slow when you try to multitask on it, but for web browsing and office it's perfectly fine. If the machines ran 7 OK, then they should be fine with 10.
  7. I did some more testing today and it seems that the Computer policy isn't working great either. It seems to work more reliably than the User GPO - user GPO only ever pinned 1 or 2 tiles, the computer GPO pins 75-100% of tiles depending how it feels! Obviously not ideal though...
  8. We've got an XML start layout working using a Computer GPO instead of a User GPO. The user GPO was being really inconsistent, but the computer GPO seems to work much more reliably. This does mean all users end up having the same start layout though, but it's better than not having one!
  9. Sorry to dig up an old thread... Just trying to set this up on our network but there seems to be a bug. If a user pulls their usb drive out of the computer whilst the alert is on screen, the program crashes.
