Hi, Ok you do not need the paid version you just can only have 100 iPad's then after that you have to pay. I've got this working at nearly 20 schools now. What you need to do is have iOS 9.0 or above. Then use the device assigned way to push apps. You don't need an itunes account at all linked to the iPad's or signed into the iPad's it's all done via serial numbers and owners. Hi Loony, When I've seen this in the past it was due to having a security rule setup and if your iPad violates this rule or rules then it locks to the Meraki app. I've seen this before when someone has removed the passcode from the device. This violates my security rule that states it needs a past code then locks it to the Meraki app. It's a failsafe I put in place for if someone tries to fiddle with the devices. Thanks, Matt

Just following up on Pirran's comment, You cant' really blame Apple on this. Apple have given the right to suppliers to be able to backdate DEP devices by 4 years. It's not really Apples fault if they went bust. Just make sure when you buy Apple products get them from big companies eg. XMA / Sotormfront. For DEP to of only been in the UK for a year Apple allowing resellers to backdate and apply DEP to devices from 4 years prior is better then most can ask for. I to have a school that bought 30 iPad's from a third party that is to small to be a DEP company so I have to use apple configurator 2 at that site. These things happen. Matt

Hi All, I've seen this issue before and it's always been the tick box or your MDM at fault. You can check this by looking what profile restrictions you have enabled onto your iPad. I would be 99% sure you will find a profile change that says you have not allowed this setting, via the configurator profile or your MDM. I use Configurator 1.x and 2.x with Meraki and also DEP with Meraki. Wit both setups i've had this issue and it was just user error on the initial setup and can be rectified remotely. Any issues just ask i've done about 30 DEP Meraki deployments this year so far and know a fair bit about issues. Matt

Hi, Just to follow what others have said. I use DEP at all my schools and I can confirm that if you bulk buy iPads you can only register them all to the school that did the bulk purchase. You need to give the DEP code before ( or after depending on the company ) then they get assigned to your school. They can't split and order up it's all or nothing. This is why I have advised my schools not to try bulk buying as it was only going to save them £10 a device and would mean I couldn't use DEP. Thanks, Matt

Hi Loonytunes, To me this sounds like you have setup a security rule and if you fail to adhere to the rule it puts you in the Meraki app. I have one of these setup that if you remove the passcode or do not set one the it gets flagged in Meraki and I set it to lock to the Meraki app. Have you got any rules like this setup within Meraki ?
