I'm using SCUP with SCE 2010 to publish Java 8 Updates.
I made a SCUP Package wth the jre1.8.0_25.msi (the msi that you get when you run the exe). I use the Command Line Parameter "AUTO_UPDATE=0 EULA=0 NOSTARTMENU=1 SPONSORS=0 WEB_ANALYTICS=0 WEB_JAVA=1".
I approved the Package for a Testgroup with a Windows 7 and Windows 8 VM. In the Win 7 VM the Update installs normally but it doesn't deinstall the old Java 8 Update 5 Plugin. Under C:\program files (x86)\Java there are now two Folders "jre1.8.0_25" with the Update installed over WU and jre8 with the manually installed old Java 8 Update 5. I've never had such problems in the past with Java 6 or Java 7.
In the Win8 VM the Update is offered over Windows Update but it won't install. I get the Error Code 6BA and when i dig into the Windows Update Log i see the following Errors:
