Came across this in trying to find a solution but seems I am in the same boat as you guys. Tried different attributes. Tried with and without the optional cloud proxy settings from Lightspeed. Tried changing my enrollment profile to use modern authentication. Nothing seems to work. So far Lightspeed support keeps sending me back to their support articles which are not helping as I do not think I have anything set incorrectly.

That is a great suggestion. I have not found any information on how to achieve that though. As far as ADA goes I did think of that and I was told that since every student has a device issued to them that doing this on lab computers is not in breach since we are able to accommodate the students that may need this with their individual device that issued to them. I just have about 3 or 4 computer labs that are for specialized classes such as AutoCAD, Graphic Design, Video Editing and such that this happens a lot. Students can install these applications on their school issued device using the Software Center in our Configuration manager but most prefer using the larger screen computers for the above applications and non of the enrolled students are in need of this. I am told that if that ever comes up then those students will just use their individual issued device. I do like the reset back to default on log off though as it would be more accommodating for all that. Any idea on how to achieve that? Would have to be a logoff script that applies to all users on only those select computers.

So I have been searching for way to accomplish this in a relative easy and automated way but so far I have not. Working in a high school we have a real problem with students changing the themes on lab computers to high contrast making it hard for the next person to use that computer to use it and it is generating many support calls from teachers saying the computer video is messed up (despite multiple informative emails on this happening and how to easily fix it). I have read some info on creating a custom GPO but that has not worked as I thought probably because the info was written around Windows 7 and not Window 10. I have also read some information on deleting or changing the UTILMAN.exe in the windows\system32 but that does not seem to help either What I found works is to delete the files in "C:\Windows\Resources\Ease of Access Themes" but you first have to take ownership and grant administrative access to those files. I thought maybe some sort of script could work to do all of this I could run on the computers I would like this disabled on. I know I probably can strip the files from my computer image but we are also a One2One school with Windows devices for our students and I do not want to disable high contrast on those devices. I just want to keep it off the general use computers in the labs and classrooms. I think managing two images and which one to use where would be confusing for my IT staff. So long story short I was seeking out any script gurus or maybe someone that has found a script that works or another solution that is easily implemented on select systems that I could try. I have already stripped these files off of an entire lab of computers manually and it has been very helpful in that lab to stop students from messing with the computer. All of our computers are Windows 10 either version 1709 or 1703. Domain is Server 2012R2.

How funny I was trying to do the same thing today. I did discover a machine with Office 2016 and I tried to activated by installing a key and using the Automatically select a KMS client Key and that was successful because I installed the key to the server using the KMS host script. If I try to activate against that key it says my count is insufficient so based on that I think it is working but the VAMT 3.1 just won't accept the Office 2016 KMS Key in the list of keys.

I put this in networks as I feel the problem is in my network somewhere but I cannot find the source of the issue. Long story short I set up a MacOS server running OS 10.10 and profile manager and all the goodies to manage a lab of macs we are deploying. Everything seems to work until I move a mac to a different subnet/vlan. I know certain ports need to be open for traffic to communicate and I do not see any reason why I would have ports 2195, 2196, 5223, 1640 blocked on internal traffic. In some reading on the internet I found that a IP Helper statement for the IP of the MacServer is needed on each VLAN for some traffic to communicate so I set that up on my core switches too (I do not think I need it on the endpoint switches) My network is primarily HP ProCurve based with some cisco switches thrown in for our Wireless. All the managed macs will be wired (at least at this point) but if I can get this to work we may use it for the handful of MacBooks we have assigned to some teachers. I am curious what I can check to see if the desired ports are opened and test communication for pushing profile settings across subnets. If I can get the Macs to Netboot and image across subnets too that is just an added bonus.

I was hoping to pre-populate the channels for the teachers because even though I made it simple and use the room number for the channels and the cart number for the laptop carts I anticipate that they will have issues based on many of my teachers and staff are baffled by the concept of a right click. I assume that you cannot set multiple channels using the SetChannel utility either.

I may go that route to.. I just came across this forum in my searches on LanSchool and it looked like a decent community to get answers. We too have tried messing with multicast on our switches and have had no luck so I wanted to test this route as it says right in the install manual that it alleviates the headaches of communicating across vlans as it uses port 80 internally.

From what I understand it is a central server that the LanSchool clients can report back to. The very reason I am looking into this is because of vlans. While the standalone install has worked fine for our labs we have several laptop carts on wireless that are used in classrooms where the teacher computer on the wired port is on a separate VLAN than the wireless laptops but the teachers would like to use LanSchool in those situations as well. We have a site License so the connection server is included with that license.

Is it possible to set multiple channels using the CHANNEL= in the MSI installer? If I can get the LanSchool Connection Server to work the way I want I am hoping to distribute LanSchool to my teacher workstations. The problem is each department has anywhere from 1-3 laptop carts shared amongst the teachers so I want to put each cart on their own channel using the cart number and have the channels set so the teachers can just choose.

After you set up the connection server on server 2008 what do you do to manage it all? The instructions are not very clear. I have installed LCS.msi on my server 2008 and created a group in active directory called Lanschool Teachers but I do not know where to go from there. Do I just install the teacher and student msi's everywhere with the connection server settings? How do I manage the channels and all that. Is there a managment dashboard? I am so confused.

Ok, I am new to LanSchool and while I was able to get the stand-alone installs for teacher and student workstations to work it was suggested that I should set up a LanSchool connection Server. Well I set up a Server 2008R2 in VMWare and installed LCS.msi but have no idea where to go from there. I also created an AD Group called LanSchool Teachers and added myself to it so I could do some testing but I do not know how this all communicates with AD and all that. Do I need to used the admx templates in this active directory security model? How do I manage what workstations and channels teachers can have access to? Lots of unanswered questions and missing detail in the setup/user PDF files.
