there is also no flash on ios, and also the only apps you can use are the ones on the app store which means installing extra back end software to be able to restrict/control them etc. this would not be needed with a windows tablet, AND it would come with flash and be compatible with all of your desktop software.

the best option for a tablet into education whether it is for staff or students is full Windows 8.1 Pro hybrid tablet. the surface is very expensive though, so I am not recommending that. it takes away literally ALL headaches that would come from using an android or ios device as they would be exactly the same to set up as all of your current desktops/laptops

i think the best most practical option for any school for tablets would be something that has a full version of Windows 8.1 Pro on so that you have full functionality and control rather than iPads which you can't actually use any apps for that aren't on the app store. there are some decent ones around for pretty cheap!
