  1. Hello, You will likely be aware of the Ransomware attack that affected the NHS and many other organisations worldwide over the last couple of days. Given the prevalence of this Ransomware attack the below guidance has been created by our technical teams to help you understand whether you are protected or not and what actions to take. Guidance: https://support.rm.com/NewsAndAlerts.asp?cref=NWS5696059 Suggested actions to take: 1. Check to ensure that critical Microsoft patch MS17-010 has been deployed (see above guidance for help) 2. Check to ensure your backups have completed successfully 3. Remind staff and students about safe internet usage If you have been affected by Ransomware, this article will provide some steps to help you recover: https://support.rm.com/newsandalerts.asp?cref=nws5073225 If you are a support customer and have any queries please log a call online, via webchat or over the phone. Best wishes, Chris Burgess
  2. Hi @synaesthesia, There's a few permutations that affect the cost of the subscription license, for example, it can depend on the type of CC4 licenses you may already have in place at the school. If you give our team a call on 08450 700 300, they'll be able to talk you through the specifics over the phone and provide a license price. Thanks, Chris
  3. @synaesthesia, no problem always happy to help and thanks for your reply. Just to clarify your point, with an active CC4 subscription license you do receive major updates for CC4, such as Windows 10 support and regular builds with no need for a support contract in place. These should all be available in your schools My Account area and available from RM's WSUS servers. In addition to this you can upgrade to the latest version of CC4 with no additional licensing costs, but there is a charge for the installation from an approved partner or direct. Thanks, Chris
  4. Hello, I'm Chris Burgess I work for RM Education looking after our support products and wanted to stop by and provide some answers to the questions in this post. As others have correctly said, legally you can have CC4 installed without purchasing the support service. However, by having support you do have access to our very experienced team, access to our knowledge library and to our feature updates and bug fixes. This can help give you and the school peace of mind that you've got CC4 experts on-hand and help to keep your environment up to date. I did also want to share that our support service isn't limited to RM IP as we offer a single support contract with over 50 leading technologies that cover the main network platforms in schools (vanilla windows, google, apple). We're helping a number of schools go completely Google and some of our new technologies use the Microsoft's Azure platform. If you want to know more, take a look at our support technologies list, review our website or PM me and I'll be happy to help. Thanks, Chris
  5. Hello, RM has recently developed a free tool called RM inform that accurately monitors the logon times for machines on a Windows network, reporting back to a central console that the network team can use. Alongside, logon times it also monitors other things such as what machines are / aren't being used, what specification they are and the installed software. RM Inform is currently in it's initial release, with new features on the roadmap for the future. RM Inform - School IT monitoring and reporting PM me if you have any questions or want to talk through the detail. Thanks, Chris
  6. Hi, How do you currently get your email today? Is it via Office365 or via an Exchange server at the school or LEA? As posted by sparkeh, if you have Office 365 today, you need at least A3 to have the desktop application with it. Please let me know if I can help further. Chris
