Hi all, since all our services here (AD, Office 365, SIMS etc.) are done from a SSO, if a user forgets their password it causes a bit of an overhead for us. Does anyone know a good product that the pupils and teachers can use to reset their passwords? It would be handy to have a product that allows us to put in IT system passwords as well. ideally they can reset it from the log in screen rather than a mobile. Thanks for any ideas! James

Hi all, we have Exchange 2016 here, Outlook 365 on the desktops. Suddenly now, everyone gets the prompt "something went wrong and your search could'nt be completed". You can click on "Let's look on your computer instead". Its appears on everyone's desktop so its not a local issue. Before I bounce the server, any ideas? James

[ms office - o365] Issues with Shared Activation of Office 365
m0bov posted a topic in Office Software
Hi all, I have recently taken over a network and one of the ongoing issues wit MS Activation's. We are using Office 365, we have shared computer activation and the license file is being dropped into a shared folder. What happens is a user will change their password (SSO) then their copy of 365 will show up unlicensed. They have to log out, log back in twice, they get an error message but it then works ok. Sometimes the user account shown is not their's, I'm told if you then log out it means that the application needs re loading. Whenever someone enters their details, they confirm their password, then right at the end they get the below error. This always happens and was described as a "normal" error! Any ideas?? James -
Hi all, our Data Protection Office is trying to run a search, but when she clicks on Preview results some of the messages have a down arrow. When you click on the message it says unavailable, try again later. I have previewed searches made last year (which were ok) and these are also showing random message with arrows. We are running Exchange 16 CU12. I'm not very familiar with Exchange 2016, but is this a known or common problem? Googling has not shown anything of much use. Thanks, James

Just playing with Spiceworks, noticed you don't need to enter a password to get in! Is this right? -
Hi all, I have a Canon C5535 which is used by the Art Dept. The output is very grainy, we found on the printer it was set for TR Photo, we tried all the other settings which showed less grain but a bit blurry and much darker. We also use Uniflow. I am using the PS3 drivers, anyone got any experiance of these printers? They are printing A4 high res images and they look aweful. Only other thing is getting a higher spec printer. James

For Fresh Desk, does it have an AD plug in to pull details from our network? We have all our accounts synced between frog, AD, etc. -

Cheers guys, I used Spiceworks a few years ago (about 5) but was self hosted. Will have another look. Thanks. -
Hi all, I have just recently taken on the roll as NM with a team of 5. I am new to all this, having been a tech for about 20 years. The team covers the main high school, plus a couple of other sites nearby which are primaries. The main issue we face is calls are not logged, we just use a shared mailbox! You can imagine the issues this causes, I have always worked with HD software and don't know how they managed before. We have SCCM running and they have been trying to use Service Manager and using Sharepoint as a front end, it all looks a bit custom. The good thing with this is that it knows the users from AD. We looked at OSticket but looks a bit clunky. Any other suggestions? Paid for is fine, needs to integrate into AD for user accounts, templates for tickets would be nice so a check list process can be followed for freq activities like create accounts or change passwords. The ability to submit tickets via e-mail is important, also web front end, cloud based. We have On Premises Exchange. Thanks for any ideas. James

Hi all, if I google my high school, it shows an image which is not entirely appropriate. I have submitted an alternative image and also completed the feedback form. I have also posted something on their community page to ask for help. I just wondered if anyone knows of a better or quicker way to remove and change a search result photo? Thanks, James

Hi all. We support around 50 sites, we run Windows 7 and some Windows 10 with server 2008-2016. The usual types of software like Office 2010-2016 and Clevertouch Lynx, Smartboard, SIMS, etc. We also use Centrastageto deploy apps and also GPOs! We like to keep Adobe Acrobat, Java, Flash etc up to date. Normally we use Ninite (free) or manually run it. We use mandatory profiles Its now been decided to revoke local admin rights to the machines. We currently make domain users a member of the local administrators group, I have done some testing and found: Lynx does not take an update using the self updater, Acrobat won't update, neither does Java. Not sure about SIMS, but I gather Solus will run ok? Need to check this with our sims team. Has anyone been through this? Any fixes or tips? I have logged a case with Clevertouch, googling has not turned up anything of use.
