THIS. I had a backwards compatible PS3 but it's the only console I've ever had up and die on me. While it may well be possible to get the software on a PS3 to the backwards compatible version - they also had extra slots for memory cards, which were simply not present on the other models. (They were under a flap next to the DVD slot). I only ever had one minor issue getting a PS1 game to play on my old PS2 and a quick restart sorted that so you may be better going down that route for the PS1/2 end of things. EDIT: Hold on - memory is a fickle thing. Those slots weren't for PS2/1 memory cards. But does show there may have been extra hardware involved.

Golden Glory (and yes - Badger ales). There's a very nice Apricot ale by Derventio here in the Midlands (I hate apricots, but love this beer) called Cleopatra. Tastes somewhat sherbety and sells VERY quickly.
