It seems like a workaround for the next 12 months, I imagine both companies will be pushing schools to migrate away from Facility to either Advanced Learning's Progresso or Service Birmingham SIMS. Fingers crossed the support level does not change and effect the schools.

Has anyone else spoken to Advanced Learning? I spoke to them Tuesday and needless to say was informed of a different set of events, definitely two sides of the story! Hopefully something can be resolved asap, just to give the school's a bit of peace of mind.

Just wondered what are people's thoughts about renewing the Facility CMIS licence, seems Link2ICT cannot offer a renewal and Advanced Learning are not in a position to offer direct yet. Has anyone else heard anything please?

I would consider Aruba to be honest, with educational prices available it offers a great solution especially if you purchase Clear Pass for a BYOD solution. I've been surprised by the large coverage of the AP's and easy to manage. Setting up Guest Wi-Fi took a matter of minutes, highly recommended.

Because Link2ICT host Zimbra and control the really "Admin Rights", I have found that resetting the Zimbra password works well, I appreciate it is does cause some disruption but as long as staff are informed the process works well. If staff to moan, just highlight the fact you want to ensure that all their existing mail can be viewed in Office 365 most will be fairly happy then. If you do find a way of migrating using the admin credentials, I would be grateful to know.

I used this format on a Birmingham Zimbra to Office 365 Migration EmailAddress,Username,Password [email protected],[email protected],password IMAP is generally disabled by Link2ICT so you have to request it to be enabled. Unfortunately, Link2ICT restrict this generally to 15 accounts at one time. Are you on Zimbra 5 (mail.myvle.org) or Zimbra 8 (mail.link2ict.org)?

Try turning off SMARK Ink, had a similar problem at a school this seemed to do the trick. There is a conflict issue between SMART Ink and Microsoft Ink I believe...

Virtualisation is definitely the way forward, splitting server roles, creating new servers will make your life easier in the long run. I've used VM Ware in a large school, amazing to see how little resources are used at times despite large number of user accessing servers. Veeam for backing up your VM's is fantastic product, would highly recommend to anyone. At the Bett Show last week I had a look at the Dell PowerEdge VRTX server, looks a great bit of kit if you are buying a new server for this project, I would consider their 4 hour warranty as well so you are covered just in case.
