I had heard before about thermal paste drying out causes issues but I've never opened up a laptop to check. Do you reckon it is worth taking an air can to the laptop to try clear it out or am I going to have to try something else?

We've currently got several groups of laptops of varying ages across the campus which are starting to show signs that they'll need replacing soon. One group must be about 4 - 5 years old at this point and were bought before I started working here. What makes them overheat so much compared to when they were new? I noticed the older the models get the more they seem to warm up and slow down on boot up/logging in and such.

Just thought I'd mention that I have solved the "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" error that was troubling us for about two weeks. What we did was add the email account which was linked to the AppleID on to the iPad and then went through the process of accepting the VPP Invitation that way, What we did previously was sign in to the email via Safari or IE and follow the VPP Invitation link that way which came up with errors, It seems trivial but I hope this helps someone out in the future who has had that problem as well

I think the first error is caused when you haven't given the Apple ID a licence for the application you are trying to install. I went to MDM > VPP then selected the app in this case Book Creator which we have 30 Licenses for then allocated a license to that ID. After that it should push out fine. I hope that made sense...

Would Reflector not just be an easier option?

I'm currently doing that with a few games since I know they'll do a GOTY or Ultimate edition with everything included -

You'd think they would do an Ultimate Edition which contained everything... And they wonder why people pirate games -

HP LaserJet P2055DN's going offline and not responding

I did link it previously but it appears that link doesn't work any more, I'm pretty sure it is on the official HP site though, http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdDetails/?sp4ts.oid=3662058&spf_p.tpst=swdMain&spf_p.prp_swdMain=wsrp-navigationalState%3Didx%253D%257CswItem%253Dlj_66014_11%257CswEnvOID%253D4063%257CitemLocale%253D%257CswLang%253D%257Cmode%253D%257Caction%253DdriverDocument&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken -
The only way I've found to get around this is to use a program called NetSupport to do a group login as an Admin first then log out which will then allow the program to work for standard users. After talking to the people at Coffee Cup there doesn't appear to be anything you can do that wouldn't mean making the standard users administrators or by getting an admin to log in first.

The students have those permissions by default when the software is installed so I experimented with giving a test student account full control of all of the program files but that didn't seem to change anything.
-
One of the first things they say at CoffeeCup is that you run it as an administrator in compatibility mode and set it to run in Windows XP SP2 as well. Naturally that didn't work so I've been trying other alternatives.

Hey all, I don't know if anyone else on this site has used this software or had to set it up in a school based environment but I thought i'd try my luck here to see if someone has the answer i'm looking for. Basically I've can't get the software working for standard users no matter what we try and it is becoming a pain because it will only work when an admin logs in and runs the software first then logs out. The teaching staff who use it are getting frustrated at having to login on each machine first as it consumes a fair amount of their time. I've even contacted CoffeeCup themselves for assistance but they've basically told me that only Administrators can run their software. I've been trying to get this working for almost a month now so any help anyone has would be appreciated greatly!
