Hi all
We have a Dell server with 4 virtual servers running server 2008 r2 on a hyper v host, one is a DC the other our Exchange server, the other a small database, and the third the main file storage area where all user data related files is stored, its hard drive is partitioned with one being used to run the OS and the other to store data, it is 804 gig in size.
For some odd reason it keeps saying I have hardly any space left thereby continually forcing me to remove data off it to free up space, but when running programs like Windir stat or just by manually counting the amount of data being used by right clicking individual folders I can only account for just 576 gig, I can not for the life of me work out where the remaining 228 gig have gone.
I have done the following thus far:
1) run chdisk = no errors found
2)Run a defrag 3 times and have been rewarded with a gig or two with the first run but only a few megabytes thereafter,
Disk shadowing is enabled but has been allocated just 3 and a half gig of space to use.
Any ideas as to where this space may have disappeared to would be most welcome.
