Hi All, I'm trying to get my head around sorting out our Duplicate contacts - does anyone have an easy to follow guide on the best approach to take on this? From finding the contacts through to removing them? Thanks Dave

Hi All, So I've got all this new KS2 data - all nice and tidy, but does anyone know what happens when a student only obtains a Writing TA score (often a 2).. and then has blanks for every other item of data? Thanks

Hi, We have used SISRA for 3 years now and also their new product (Analytics) for around a year (we were part of the trial). Our Middle Leasers actively used SISRA for KS3 through to KS4 data analysis, and I have run 2 Y11 results days through SISRA, and this year in both SISRA and Analytics. We have a split site academy with 2 secondary schools forming into 1 overall academy (2 heads of School / 1 Principle). Out figures are reported as 1 school. Before SISRA I'd developed a spreadsheet to complete the analysis. We could have continued down this path, but my major concern is that with the changes to performance measures changing so rapidly it was becoming harder and harder to maintain our own system. It also meant that staff who were not as confident with Spreadsheets really struggled to complete any analysis. I have to say that I find Analytics a much more refined system - SISRA was showing it's age, but it did serve us very well. We have always found the company extremely helpful - both online and also during training events. I would recommend having a be-spoke training solution if you do decide to go down either path as we found that having their team on site and working with our data so much easier! We are actually a CMIS based school - so do not have access to some of the assessment tools that SIMS does give staff. Do factor in that you do need to have someone who is determined to make sure your data is 100% accurate.. the fact that you have to ensure courses are set-up correctly and the export/import aspect as your having to take data out of your "LIVE" MIS can cause issues if your not careful. But we have found that it is actually benefiting our accuracy!. We have recently moved to uploading the data onto Analytics and then in Y11 review meetings with HoDs making changes on the fly - we can then republish reports within minutes and look at all the relevant Headline Measures along with your main Sub-Groups. We held off showing Middle Leaders Analytics until the KS3 aspect was included (just before XMAS), we launched it on Monday this week and the overwhelming response has been positive. As a former HoD I would have dreamt of having the data it gives you.. In terms of 4Matrix - it displays the same sort of information, but does include Flightpaths (which SISRA doesn't) and tends to be more graph driven. Personally that didn't match with our need, but that was more down to our own preference. I'd highly recommend getting 4Matrix and SISRA in to show you their products. We ruled out both Go4schools and TASC. Good luck

Hi All, Bit of a strange request, but I wondered if anyone would be in a position of being able to pass on any guidance in terms of writing a specification for a new MIS? Thanks

Just a thought - if your really desperate for the DATA your Local Authority should be able to help now that the Autumn Census is complete. -

Help... there said it ... But seriously.. I am having a moment.., in the post 16 return we need to enter the learning hours and non learning hours.., now my question is a simple one, but I have not Been able to get an answer. are the learning hours - set against a qan.. Meant to be; glh straight from ofqual (as = 180) funded hours as per old funding formula (as = 150) or do we take our lessons x a week and multiply by no of weeks? There is nothing out there from what I can tell that helps... And we are a cmis school ;( thanks

Help - Performance Tables

We check every grade for every student... found 5 GCSE grades that they didn't record and 3 A-Level A2's... makes a difference. -

Oh and one last thing - 1 year top/ups/resist etc.. don't count... provided they claimed a grade in last years league tables.. (i.e: your Y14s).. -

so... look for your typical Y13s.. ie: done AS and then moved onto A2 - these count... both their A2 and AS grades - the A2 grades over ride the AS results... but you can get a student who has picked up an AS in Y13 for example.. Then look for your Y14 students who has done GCSE in Y12, then picked up AS in Y13 and then moved onto Y14 to continue their A2s.. these count!. If you have a student who has joined for 1 year and is completing AS's currently and will be moving onto A2s make them a Y12 on the Data Checking website - but they will count next year!. Remember that only grades obtained in the last 2 years count though... so if by chance you have a student who has grades from 3 yrs ago (AS/A2) - then these won't count... and when they are aged 19 they don't count either... All ok? Hope that helps.. -

Autumn Census Learning Outcomes

Same - started the process... but I just wondered if anyone has any guidance on the "core learning aim" - plenty of places discuss it.. but DfE were their usual useful selves and didn't help. I gather it is linked to the main learning objective.. Thanks -

I heard this was going to be the case.. it was ridiculous... I don't mind setting learning aims at the start of the year as I think it helps ensure staff are checking their class lists.. but to have to send the data to the Dfe when they can get the data from the exam boards was data overload! Hi BTW - new to the forum.. -
