Thanks. Are there any security issues enabling multicasting over the network? or will it increase network traffic to the point where it will effect other users?

Had a look around after you mentioned the bonjour issue and I've found a guide to configuring bonjour on a cisco controller, thanks for pointing me in the right direction! We are a BSF school! We've got a Cisco wireless system in place at the moment, do you know what needs changing on the WiFi controller?

I'm trying to set up airplay/mirroring on our proxied WiFi network. I've added a profile to the Apple TV without any issues and i can browse the internet from the apple TV etc. But for some reason I can't airplay to the apple TV from an iPad on the same WiFi network as the TV. I can only put this down to ports not being opened possibly? our internet provider if asking for source ip and destination ip.. the source I don't have an issue with as its our wifi range but what would be the destination ip? I've got a list of ports that need unblocking, anyone know of any others?: TCP port 123 is used to communicate with a network time server. TCP port 3689 is used to communicate with iTunes while using the iTunes Library Sharing feature. UDP port 5353 is used by Apple TV for automatically finding computers with iTunes on your network using Bonjour. TCP port 80 is used for communicating with podcast servers. TCP port 80 and 443 are used for basic and secure communications with the iTunes Store via the Internet. TCP port 53 is used for regular DNS. Any help would be appreciated! Cheers

I appreciate I'm a bit late to the party with this one..... I'm trying to set up an Apple TV to airplay to and mirror. I've managed to connecting it to our proxied WiFi network ok, but I've had no luck with trying to airplay / mirror an apple device as their isn't the option to do so! I've spoken with our internet provider (yhgfl) and unblocked all ports i believed were necessary (see below) but this doesn't seem to have helped. Both Apple TV and iPad are connected to the same WiFi network, but neither are able to see each other it seems. Jay
