Hi, we have Canon printers with a uniflow cloud, and a hybrid AD environment. We have a lot of shared student desktops(mandatory profiles) running windows 10/11, we installed the uniflow smartclient, but students need to click /register the uniflow client everytime when they login. Is there a solution so that users automatically logged into the smartclient? The installed Office apps are automatically logged in with the logged on user credentials. Is this possible with uniflow? Thanks

thanks. we as IT don't want local admins, but them main problem is installing peripherals like usb drawing boards. As they arent local admin they also can't install drivers. Any iedeas on this?

Hi Edu colleagues;) We are managing about 400 windows 10 laptops (which are in a Hybrid Azure AD Joined) with Intune, and users can install company software via Company Portal which works fine. Users are logged on the device with the their domain credentials and are normal users on the device, so they cannot install applications for example. But we are getting more and more questions about this. users want to install other applications which they used for lessons, and not always we can add it to the company portal. Also users want to connect their wacom(or other brands) tablets and other peripherals, which they can't install in this situation. My question is how are you dealing with this? I heard they make users local admin on they device, but is that recommended? I can't oversee they drawbacks. Any help or tips wold be welcome

this is a problem with all windows 10 versions.....at least we have experienced it. We use redirected startmenu's and i have placed a gpupdate script inside the startup folder within the startmenu, and our printer problems are gone.

Exactly what i was thinking.

I've fixed it by placing a vbs script that runs a gpupdate command in our redirected startmenu in the startup folder. And seems to works great. Wondering if 1809 has solve this.....but probably this new version brings another load of bugs.

So it looks to me it is not gona solve the problem.

Anyone tested on Windows 10 1803? As in An 1803 cu update changelog looks it says something about this issue?

Had the same problem. I've set the link order to 1 of this gpo. And seems to work again......for now. Windows 10 is a giant bug[emoji25]

We had server 2008 dc's and 2012 printserver and Windows 10 clients and we have migrated everything to server 2016 but the problem still exists. So to me it is a Windows 10 bug. Well Windows 10 to me is the new Windows ME.

Hi, Students have now homefolders with about 500MB storage. We use Windows 10 1709 for now and use mandatory profiles. Most students use shared computers inside classrooms. Only some classes have byod devices which has not this issue. I'm thinking to use Onedrive for storage. But i don't want to sync to local pc or to file servers. I've read something about "Redirect Windows known folders to OneDrive", but seems not working with mandatory profiles. I'm wondering if someone else also have this or have a solution or suggestions how to get allong with storage for students. Thanks for reading and looking forward to tips and suggestions.

In our case Printers are deployed to OU's (rooms) which contains computer objects, and in that room is also the printer. My user policy is linked to that computer ou with e group policy merge loopback.
