  1. Anyone got any details about who to contact about getting admin/bios details? The laptops were delivered by our local Fire Brigade and our Technical contact has had no info at all. We can't install any remote management software or any required apps so we are just sitting on them!
  2. Watch out for the T's & C's - after the initial 3 year contract expires you are tied in for another 3 years, not a rolling one year contract! So buy it and immediately give notice to cancel. They almost definitely won't turn you away in 3 years time if you decide to stay but you then do have the option to move if another supplier has beneficial pricing or additional features.
  3. Hi You will probably need to change the wifi password back so the laptops can connect again, set up a new ssid with a new password, then push out the new settings via gpo. I think the password goes in the security tab when you create a new profile under Wireless Network Policies. Once all the laptops have picked up the new settings, turn off the old ssid. If you have to have the same ssid as you had originally, you could repeat the process, but does anyone have time for that? Andy "He Who Dies With The Most Toys, WINS!!!"
  4. Quarter of a mile. That would have been around 14 seconds in my old Mitsubishi GTO TT! Takes about 2-3 mins on foot. It does have its downside though - the car battery is always flat as I don't use it daily. Andy "He Who Dies With The Most Toys, WINS!!!"
  5. Yep, I'm the whole dept. Technically I'm an assistant network manager as we are apparently not a large enough school to need a fully blown network manager!
  6. Hi I am the IT department in a small secondary school in the west of Cornwall and after visiting this site for over two years, I thought I'd better say hello! Andy "He who dies with the most toys, WINS!!!"
