Honestly This has been the first time I've not lay awake for hours at the end of a holiday - even if I'd been in for most of it

This reminds me of last week (sort of related so hang in there) Went to pay the council tax - but there was only one window open and a big queue. So went and sat a at bank of machines to "play" until the line shortened. First off I kicked the Dell as I sat down (they were sat on the floor) - then managed to get the browser to leave the council's site. then thought "oooh could do with a calculator" Start programs - acces... oh no accessories. never mind - typed cmd (thinking that'll never work) hit return up it came ..... "Hmmm what else can I do" after 20-25 mins of "playing" I suddenly thought about the parking meter and left. I wont bother telling the council - I enjoyed my bit of fun too much

Must admit I was looking forward to it - then all the poor reports I read pretty much put me off it.. Mind it did the same when I thought about getting Thief!! So I ended up getting a preowned copy of Bioshock infinity - While I'm happy playing that - it the fact it runs on the Unreal engine that I hate

To be honest its the first time ive come across this - no other school Ive worked in has had this as part of a disaster plan - aparently the person works often on the fms side at home - again it's the first time ive heard of this happening - it rang alarm bells with me.. I went to the head with this and its the first time it was known about.. Like me considered it a security risk.. If its the norm - then I've got egg on my face and will gladly say sorry - we have an on & off site back up everynight taken and as said before was under the impression it was a big no no having sims installed on anything that was to leave the building. The only module I ever put onto a laptop has been timetable. Thanks for clearing it up - as the saying goes... who knew

While updating some staff laptops to W7 - I can across one that I was told was used as an off site emergency to access the systems from home in the event of the school being shut suddenly. I cannot see the reason nor justification for this and have refused to put the packages back on the unit - citing data protection and security. Does anyone else have or let this happen - or am I right on the security issue. (25 years working in schools - and this is the first time i've heard of this - its just plain wrong to me)

Upvotes on the Woodfordes Wherry.. I got a cider kit from Tesco Direct and 2 cases of Plazzy bottles delivered to my local store when my car was off the road - Made it all easy for me.. as I didnt have far to walk. The Range has a kit thats cheap for about 20 bucks (was last time I nipped in for steriliser) that has everything in.. but dont know about their beer bag kits.. What I will say is that the "better" kits on TD are FAR too dear - but the cheaper ones are a good starting point. But finding your nearest and friendly brew shop is a must - I found one near where I work - and its better than the one near where I live.. (and cheaper) I'm working myself up to full mash kits - just got to persuade the dragon to let me have a 23ltr cooking pot.

I just dragged my brother into the mordern age.. replaced his win 2000 box for an xp box... Only did it now as he's gone and got that new fangled thing called boradband (had too as his old "dial up" isp closed its service down). Oh and made him bin his ball mouse as well - I'd gotten tired of cleaning the ack off the rollers to use it. When the OP mentioned issues with his tomtom - it got me thinking, as my win 7 box wont play nice with my go live and bricks it - so I have to dust off the ol xp lappy to update the gps.
