About ralpha

  1. Thanks for the suggestion. I will pass it onto my Network guy and see if there's anything he can tweak.
  2. We upgraded to Windows 7 over the summer. I and other users are being forcibly kicked out of Internet Explorer when running reports such as Reports ¬ Lesson Monitor ¬ Whole Group Student Reports. This also happens when we try to print cover arrangements from Cover. I suspect that other similar reports will have the same result. I have noticed that sometimes if IE is already open, the report may open in a new tab but it still tries to close all tabs (this can be bypassed by closing the message window). If IE isn't open then the report doesn't seem to run at all. When the report does run for me, the address bar displays C:Users\aralph\localsettings\Temp\rpttmp.html. Our Network Manager doesn't allow any staff access to the C drive so could this be where the problem lies? We had no problems last term (on Windows XP). Anybody else had a similar problem?
  3. No, it's my ball and I'm taking it home!!! What I selected was Core System - Assessment Manager - Individual Reports - and then I ticked Manage (All), Generate and View (All). I originally ticked all the options but then gradually reduced the chosen options ensuring that I could still view the reports. **Edit** I know this doesn't resolve the original query (and apologies for hijacking the thread). I've just removed the Manage (All) option but it still gives the user the option to delete documents. Without investing a lot of time to look at this in more detail it seems that staff will need to be reminded(!) not to even think about deleting anything!
  4. Thanks, I've now managed to narrow it down (with a bit of trial and error along the way). I just need to get it agreed now
  5. I'm trying to give certain staff access to view all Linked Documents. Currently they can view SEN Documents but I upload student progress reports (generated via Assessment Manager) to the Doc server. It is these Assessment Reports that I want them to see. I have tried tweaking the permissions where I think they need tweaking but they still can't view them. We have our own 'Bespoke' user roles rather than the in-built Capita roles. Is there a permissions document that says what each permission 'aspect' gives what access?
  6. Got this sorted today, apparently it was something to do with the smoothwall settings that needed tweaking.
  7. Just jumping onto this post to see if anybody can assist. I'm the Exams Officer in school and recently the A2C software has dropped all connections to the various exam boards. Previously it had been working fine. My Network Manager is able to successfully connect to the software on his machine. The software was originally installed on the server and he created a shortcut to the software and placed it into one of our shared folders. All of the allowed sites are still the same within the setup. Does anybody have any suggestions/thoughts as to why the connection has suddenly dropped? AVCO are no longer providing support so I was hoping to pick something up from on here!
