  1. We have had varying success on this. BTLS do not charge for the procedure and for most the change is easy without a visit from them. However if they cannot extend the range and have to release a new IP range, that is where we have found that there are issues. We were to change over one of our schools over Christmas and they could not assure us that the school would be up and working on the 4th. As we are a 3rd party support, we couldn't risk one of our schools being down on the first day back. We are now awaiting for another date.

    Office 365 migration

The issues highlighted over here in Lancaster is that if the user has local Outlook (Admin, head or SMT) then the contacts don't come across as they have used the contacts for the user from the webmail. It isn't a problem as you can import the contacts over but it may cause confusion and stress first thing!
  3. Its stable on the Admin range, not on Curric. But I take your point, it was working before the summer break. I suspect that BTLS are tinkering with the settings but not bothering to let anyone know. I use Apple Configurator to deploy to the IPads so I connected the IMac to Admin and everything worked wonderfully. IOS 8 is due out tomorrow, now how are you supposed to cope with intermittent access for a full upgrade!
  4. I think you can safely assume that the events of late last week will hinder the release of these figures. Now that they will have to remove HR details from them!
  5. I would assume that after the events of late last week, you can expect a further delay!!!!

    SIMS Migration

I believe OCL now call it 'Software and Hardware' support or just 'Software' support. No Plan A or Plan I anymore. Capita's SupportNet has a vast amount of info on it which I do believe school techies are entitled to access to some level. The main problem with migrating the database yourself is the SA password for your SQL database. If they (OCL) do not retain that password (ie you change it) they will not be able to apply patches and take backups of your data. DBAttach simply wont work. So basically it is up to you if you want to take the risk. Bearing in mind that applying patches and taking backups isn't rocket science. PM me if you want further info.
  7. The Primaries needn't feel they are trapped in. There are a few local companies out there who will look after the schools and help them with their transition so that it isn't too painful. A few have ex-Westfield people on hand to assist and they are only too happy to help and give advice.
