Consider it done, I’ve now got time to look at the GUI experience. I have a few things in relation to the ribbon bar when buttons are disabled and the separator bars that get left behind. And also the ability to hide the tab sections completely.

I think what you are trying to say is that the current answers, don’t give a clue to the question, therefore you have to read the question each time to see if the answer fits. By changing the buttons to your suggestion, the need to read the question becomes irrelevant, because the buttons are single word descriptives. In essence each button asks and answers the question in a single word. Unless you have another valid reason for changing them? [emoji3]

Nope, but we get around that by auto login, so if they log off the computer will log in straight away. Therefore to remove the GPOs that cause this, we instigate a remote GPO update to get the laptops back in normal mode.

We disable the ability to modify Wi-Fi networks too, to stop this, remove the system tray networking icon and control panel and settings access. We have done it this way for many years. Not to mention all the other restrictive GPOs in place! We have it so the backup copies of work are store locally and the auto-saved file is on the desktop which is a network location. Better to have it in two places.

I have now put in place after the permission denied error message a SaveAs dialog window so you get the option to save it to somewhere else. It will be released in the next version in a few days.

I would never say never, and always air on the side of caution, but please do your own testing with regards your own setup. What we do here is to, at each logon, download a copy from the network and launch it from the local disk. Yes, chances are you are selecting the exam board CAIE, which a few posts previous to this one, I advise to download the update released yesterday, for anyone else reading this who will have the very same issue as you good self. This will fix your problem [emoji1303]

I’ve now sorted out this issue and it relates to the TextControl used, so I’m limited but it control but managed to fudge it to work 100% when display the correct preview. I will release it tomorrow after further testing, if you wish to test it also, please drop me a PM with your email address. Thanks

I see what you mean, but if you load it from the location it is in then you would expect to save it back three too, 99% of the time. But what I can do is catch the exception at which it cannot write and then pop up with a save as dialog window for now then have a look at changing it longer term to something else.

I’ve noticed this too, but more like 1-2 seconds, but I suppose that depends on the size of file. I will do some testing on it, to see if I can speed up the process or see why it takes seconds to copy one TextControl contents to another.

This is a permission issue on the computer by the sounds of it. Do you have permission to modify the file if you open it in notepad and change a value?

!! IMPORTANT UPDATE !! You will need this upadte if you are running the CIE or CAIE exams, otherwise you will not be able to print. Hi, All the option and there descriptions are listed in the ConfigEditorGUI app, the one you need specifically is called “Startup_FullscreenMode”.

What you also might want to do is to disable the backup history button so they can’t restore/look at previous answers. We are doing iGCSE so not an issue for us single papers, hence why our EO never said anything previously. Going back to your request, it could ask an additional question after the first question about using the previous details, maybe something like “Would you like to modify those candidate details now?” Would this be of benefit to you? I can have it done ready for the new release this weekend if so..

As it stands now, you can click new, and retain the candidate details or not, but is the point not to be able to see paper 1? If so then we have an issue in that regardless of what you do, pupils can still recall the previous version backup and restore it to use.

I suppose this is down to a specific exam board? Or is it all of them?

IMPORTANT UPDATE: If you intend to manually change the ExamBoards in your config, more specifically, changing CIE to CAIE as they are now called, It will break the ability to print off the Form 4 coversheet for CIE only. So, you have two options: Stay as you are "CIE", change nothing and form 4 will be available as normal. or Download and install the version available for you all Monday 9th May, which with have all references to CIE changes to CAIE.

Hi, No this is not normal behaviour. The printer will print to what ever tray the printer driver has been set to. If the coversheet came out ok then the exam should do too. All you need to do is confirm with another printer to see if the results are the same.
