I would like to display the location tab in active directory so I can tell where our machines are loacted. Can anybody tell me how to display this information when i right click and go properties and select the location tab and put in the location it doesnt show.

Does anybody know to pull a image from a apple mac notebook using the altris deployment client and how to restore the image back please, also how do i use tightvnc or apple mac remote desktop to connect to our x server.

I can see but cannot connect to certain clients on the network and I get the "10060" error message. "Unable to connect to host: The Attempt to connect timed out without establishing a connection We don't have windows firewall enabled or any other firewall installed on the machines, we do thou use symantec anti virus ver 10.5 I have tried to diable these services in from the administraive tools but it still doesnt work.

What is the best way to give a user access to add a local printer when he logs on onto the domain using his local cached profile, when he is away and outside of the office.

We have a HP 530 laptop which came preinstalled with Vista, we have removed Vista and Installed XP Pro. I have nearly got all the drivers Installed but have 2 yellow question marks left. I have installed the chipset drives but still the question mark won't go away these are the details of the question mark on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System ACPI\HPQ0006\2&DABA3FF&0 I have attached a screen shot of the unknown driver. Also it is asking for 65535 Internal High definiton Audio Driver I have installed the Audio Drivers and Audio seems to be working but this device also has the question mark. I spoke to HP and they said as these drivers are not on the HP website that these devices are not compatable with windows xp pro. Does anybody know of this issue. Unkown-device.bmp

I was doing it from outlook and giving the permissions that way, I will try the way you suggested.

No It doesn't you only have access to the top level in box and when you click the inbox you don't see the subfolders underneath.

Is there a easy way to give permission to subfolders within the inbox for outlook as I have to give access to another teachers inbox, but she also has loads of subfolders which she has created. I dont fancy going to each indivual folder and set the permission. Thanks.

Sorry I meant the registry change is for the local machine not current user, Also can that VB script be ammended to the VB script we currently use to create Shortcuts on the Desktop.

I need to make a change to the registry as the GPO doesnt support the change I need. The Change is to HKEY_CURRENT_USER is there a way I can do this change via Group Policy or does anyone have any other ideas on how to roll this out to 200 machines without visiting them indivdually

Is there a group policy to check the "allow active content to run files on my computer" in internet explorer??? I need to enable this on all pc's i have a program that needs this enabled I've searched for a Group Policy there's one to that is to "allow active content to run in files on my computer from a cd" i need the other one. Or if anyone has created a GPO that I can use or tell me how to create one or even a registry change that will great.

We have a piece of kit called data harvest this is a usb device is there a way for us to make it possible for the students to install this device when they plug it in without it asking for the administrator username and password. We don't have any local accounts setup on the laptops only domain accounts.

First you will need a Blackberry Enterprise Server also known as BES Server. Failing that if you use web outlook you can configure the device to use webmail but you will need to install the CD and software on the PC. You also need to find out what kind of tarrif they are on, and if they have unlimited internet access because it will cost them a arm and a leg what network are they on and what blackberry model is it.

Has anybody used webmarshall browser control as we looking to ditch surf control or does anybody have any other good browser control reccomendations.

So what would be the perfered way to do this. Have all students with a mandadtory profile or a roaming profile.

If check where there roaming profile is stored and go into that profile and look at my pictures that is what I am talking about. As we have GPO that dosent let them save to my documents or pictures but when they right click it saves the pictures.

We have roaming profiles enabled, with a quota set whenever a student logs on and reaches that profile size it doesent let them log off. Whenever this happens I check the profile of the user and it looks like they are saving pictures in my pictures folder I remove all the pictures and move them to their personal drive. However when they log back on the same message appears again is this because they are using roaming profiles and each time they log onto another machine it is using the cached profile instead of the roaming. Also what is the best way to stop this from happening. Also is it a better idea to give student man profiles instead of roaming because also it takes a long time to log them on and for them to log off.

I want to create an All Staff distrubtion group but only allow certain members to use this group, how do i set this up?.

How do i enable my access database to have multi users being able to use it at the same time without it being locked. As I have a database that a few people might be updating at the same time.

Is there a way to delete all cached roaming profiles on all machines without visiting them and deleteing it manually. ie Via a GPO or VBS script or batch file if anybody has one that will be great.

Everything else works except, the remote desktop.

Our W2003 server had to be rebooted and since it has been rebooted we are unable to remote desktop onto the server, we get an error message as show below. The Client could not establish a connection to the remote computer Doc1.doc

We have AB Tutor Control 5 and whenever we use the block internet policy it dosent work, but also it stops everything else from working like lock, unlock, logon, logoff, watch the only way round is to disconnect the session and connect back to it. But as soon as you run the block internet policy the same thing happens again. Also does anyone have any tricks or tips in using this software and what kind of things do you use it for.
