Joomla Extensions - PDF downloader I am looking for an extension that will display pdfs and .doc/docx etc. that simply displays the contents of a folder on the web server. This way our Admin team can post what they want when they want without having to go through me. Anyone know any? Cheers, Ben

I am looking to buy licences outright for office and windows 7 but keep getting wild quotes sting I must pay every 2 years for software assurance etc. I just want to buy some licences please can someone advise me. Were in a strange situation as I would normally just get a subscription and pay per staff member but we have nearly as many staff members as students as were a special school.

Its incredible how much paper work there is in this office but none of it useful. I cant even find where the intranet is hosted as of yet.

+ still trying to find out exactly what is being backed up its using veritas onto a NAS drive in my office no Tapes. I think it is just copying the user documents area and the shared areas.

Hi All, Migrating Active directory domain controller, DNS, DHCP, Print Server, File Server from Server 2003 to Server 2008 R2. Once I have migrated all the data I am Wiping the server and starting a fresh with Server 2012 and migrating all the Data back. Never migrated servers before but have all the instructions from Microsoft technet. Anyone any pointers or tips to help me avoid any pitfalls or a complete melt down. Regards, Ben

Come back after the weekend and now it wont even open the index page to set it up it just keeps attempting to do a file download then pops up the same file download button??? tried deleting all the joomla install files and have coppied them back in but the fault still remains.

Hi All, Trying to install Joomla 3 on server 2008 R2 with IIS7 and the latest PHP installed. I open the Joomla installation index.php and fill out the information, click next and it just appears to crash. It hangs on the loading graphic forever. You can see the next part of the form under the loading graphic(its slightly greyed out) If you fill the form out and press next it says "Process is in Progress. Please Wait..." This will not go any further, Anyone any ideas? Regards, Ben

Fixed now just had to delete the browser cashe

Was because WAMP and IIS were messing each other up some how, removed wamp and made sure the correct version was in PHP manager for IIS7. still not working but should be able to sort the rest.

Fixed it, had PHP manager installed in IIS7 but also had WAMP installed??? why dont ask, previous IT Manager.

So got this far;- Copied Joomla Files to my new directory wwwroot\home Followed the Joomla instructions to open the Joomla Installer but am told "Your host needs to use PHP 5.3.1 or higher to run this version of Joomla!" Gone to the PHP site and downloaded the relevant version of PHP to the same wwwroot\home folder. Followed the PHP instructions to set the php.ini up but still get the same error "Your host needs to use PHP 5.3.1 or higher to run this version of Joomla!" Am I missing something completely obvious? Any more information would be greatly appreciated.

So all I need to do is install it in my wwwroot file create a new folder called home or something similar? Once I am done how do I point my domain name to it. please bare with my I have managed to never do back end stuff before.

Hi, Let me confirm. I am already in SQL that is not the problem. I need to wipe the joomla password. I can connect to a SQL database and I can edit it with mysql workbench but I dont know how to use it. My problem is opening myPHPadmin.
