1. I am an accredited support partner for Arbor and support around 35 schools with their MIS. I currently have 8 schools using Arbor and another 25+ migrating at some point before they terminate Integris next feb. My experience with the migrations has been pretty poor and Arbor have failed with some of these issues: No siblings linked after migration therefore 100s of duplicate parental contacts on the system. (a known migration issue which they can fix with script but you need to request through the helpdesk to get this done) SEN register migrated but none the primary/secondary needs. We had to manually data entry the needs as it was round census time and the helpdesk did not respond with a fix in time. The former roll students that migrate across have no destination schools. They are working on a fix for this for future migrations but one's already happened you have to add them in (one student at a time) Destination schools list - linked education instuitions have migrated with no or wrong dfe codes. Plus no address or URN information has migrated only the school names. There was an issue with Leaner funding added to student records as Post 16 funding but they ran a script to fix that These have been common issues with all my schools which have migrated recently. The support desk is very slow to respond and as I'm a support partner, I find I get treated as though I don't know anything about MIS (only have 20 years experience) My opinion is that they are overwhelmed with schools onborading with Arbor and there are several known migration issues that are not getting dealt with. The support staff are inexperienced and only know how to refer you to help sheets which quite frankly we can all access anyway. I'll have to keep going as my schools are undertrained and very needy. I support them but no-one really supports me. I contact other 3rd party Arbor support partners to get advice or just work it out for myself. The next 12 months will be really busy as they move all integris schools to Arbor. At least I know what to expect and give the heads up to my schools.
2. Hi rad Did you generate your own report if so which columns did you use? Or is there a predefined report? Thanks
3. Is there a way of printing a report of who has a detention and which lesson they are in for period 5. We need to collect students from the last lesson in order for them to attend detention
4. Hi All, Looking for advice. Have been asked by a Pupil referral unit school to create marksheets to monitor behaviour in every lesson. Each student is given a behaviour grade each lesson. This is then averaged on a weekly/termly/yearly basis. Currently have a marksheet setup in the MIS RM Integris. This has been working but now would like to link this to the timetable to produce report on subject classes. The columns work something like this:

Mon1 Mon2 Mon3 Mon4 Mon5 Tues1 Tues2 Tues3 Tues4 Tues5

Joe Bloggs 3 2 2 3 1 1 2 3 4 3

etc. This involves a separate marksheet for each week of the school year. plus different marksheet for different years. As you can imagine I'm running into hundreds of marksheets which is becoming too difficult to manage. My trouble is although I know Joe Bloggs' timetable, how can I say what his behaviour averages are for each subject without a lot of manual work. I'm thinking there must be a software package out there that could do this all for me, plus have extensive reporting. Would a package like Sleuth or Behaviour watch be able to manage input values for each student in every lesson for the whole year? We are using the behaviour module in integris to log behaviour incidents this behaviour monitoring is separate. Does anyone have any suggestions how to manage this better? All advice welcome and good advice appreciated. Thanks
5. Hi all, Looking for some advice really. I've supported Sims.net for the past 10 years in both secondary and primary. I'm now looking at supporting/using Unit E in a 6th form college. Will the transition be easy as in relatively the same product or am I looking at learning a whole new system? Any advice/help would epic. Thank you
6. If you run a lesson monitor report you can set the parameter such as date and % although you only get list of name and not UPN Select Reports | Lesson Monitor | Selected Student Reports | Percentage Attendance Report to display the Percentage Attendance browser.
7. Thanks Adam, I will try that
8. I did attach the database using the db atttach function. Still does nothing.
9. Can anyone help me? I have a copy of the green abbey dataset. A standalone Windows 7 laptop. I want to install sims.net to use the local database. It will not be connected to the network. I have a copy of the setup folder. Can someone advise me of the steps to installation. I installed the following programs: CCssQLExpressInst SiMSINST with the following options selected: Computer used a sims workstation The computer to be used as a sims sql server Computer to be used as a document server When I go to run sims.net it prompts me for the connect.ini file which I have pointed to the location c:\program files\sims\connect.ini And then nothing happens I’m sure I am missing a step or the configuration is wrong. Any suggestions of how I can get this working would be great and greatly appreciated :-)
