we have about 6 windows 2003 servers and about 230 xp clients. I have been shopping around for a service provider to provide server support. I thought of going with Stone Computers to provide us with the Managed Server Contract – this will include Telephone Support – Remote Access – On Site Engineer etc. Does anyone have them for such service if so how good are they? feel free to recommend any other that you think is good in terms of cost, service and expertise. thanks

sorry to confuse you but we have 6 Servers running, not just one.

we have a pure windows network (3k server and xp pcs), and we have no outside support at the moment and if something goes wrong on the server and i get stack in configuring etc I have no where to go to for help, we have been offered 50 hours support by a company for £1580, they will send us an engineer when there is a problem (2 hours will be charged for their travel) or they will remotely access the system. Is this price/deal reasonable, if you know a better way/cost of going about it, please let me know.

I created a new account with the same name the reconnect option in the Exchange System Manager is grayedout, now for over 5 hours

I have just mistakenly deleted an account from AD that has an exchange mailbox associated with it. I have recreated a new account with the same username and would like to know how to map the mail box of the old account to the new one. thanks

in the event log the error is : Event ID 13, Source: AutoEnrollment. Automatic certificate enrollment for local system failed to enroll for one domain controller certificate (0x80070005). access is denied

the exact error message is: "Could not start the Microsoft Exchange System Attendant service on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"

we have exchange server 2003 running, the Microsoft Exchange System Attendant service is not starting for some reasons, when i try to start it it just comesup with an error message and it wont start.

students are typing command.com into a notepad and save it as .bat and accessing the command prompt, how can i stop this, is it possible to do it through AD I tried to find where in AD but no joy, please give me a solutions thanks

I have checked the update history of some of client PCs they have not picked anything up since Sep 2007, I think the problem is the GPOs because when I check the client Local GPO they dont seem to be picking anythingup from the server GPO

I have not specified any IP addresses, but I just went to IIS and did the following . could you please check if I done this correctly for the 2 IP ranges.

I have installed WSUS ver 3.0.6 on one of the servers which is not on the domain (on workgroup), but it has 2 NICs (for curriculum network and one for Admin network), I have configured a GPO on the Curriculum Domain controller to point clients to the WSUS server. the WSUS sees all of the PCs from both domains, but for some reasons the GPOs don't get applied on the clients (hence no updates are picked up). please let me know how to deal with this. thanks

My worry is that when about 30 latops in a classroom start to login to the network in one go, will overload the AP and it may fail to get all the laptop connected, that is why i asked about load balancing ie: if one accesspoint takes 10 laptops then it can pass another 10 to another AP and another 10 to another AP and so on, this way allwoing good connection and bandwidth. I want to know whether Netgear provides this or something similar.

Does it do load balancing, because we have about 30 laptops in a classroom and they all start to login in one go and this is where the big test comes. have you tested the APs in such a situation to see whether it allows all devices to connect or it drops out some of the laptops etc.

has anyone used or know about NETGEAR ProSafe Smart Wireless Switch WFS709TP, it is quite a cheap managed wireless network solution, but I dont know whether it is a reliable and stable peace of equipment. if anyone has any experience or information about how good it is please let me know thanks
