Same as drivers really. A lot of complaints are aimed in Microsoft's direction, but 3rd party companies should really know what they're doing as they have the specs for a long time prior to launch, so the lack of driver support from Vista is both annoying, and little to do with MS. They're to blame for much more though
Quick question: can the messenger service be enabled through GP? Or otherwise remotely? I've been using ARI for some remote stuff, but enabling services doesn't work too well (as in, 'at all').
Morning lads,
Thanks for all the suggestions. In the end i rebooted the bugger this morning. Bosh, sorted. I'll keep an eye on it though, as it is a recurring (and annoying) problem. Evidence seems to point to BackupExec's Friday night backup, so this may get revisited.
We added ISA server a year ago, and i used a bog standard PC, chucked some more RAM in it (which is important, it's obv being a server and all - 2GB now), and it's as happy as larry (well, hardware-wise anyway).
The server Exchange is on also does DNS and DHCP yep. Everything else seems to run fine (as far as i'm aware...) Just this periodical niggling webmail problem
Top of my head sounds like it's something to do with the rights for users accessing those commands, specifically the "reset password" one. Bit rusty. Go check it
Firefox says: The connection was reset
IE (through ISA 2006) says: The page or file cannot be displayed
Reason:
The connection to the specified web server has been lost.
Technical error details:
Error Code 502 Proxy Error: The specified network name is no longer available.

Mostly all is well - they can get in using the full Outlook client program. Web access both internally and externally is dead.
Trawling through logs atm...
Thanks for that dude. It's happening just now (web access dead) but the restarting of w3svc didn't resolve it i'm afraid
I know, i know. We don't have the space, money or need for separate servers per service though.
Another Exchange question while we're on the subject.
We run Exchange 2003 on our PDC. Occasionally webmail becomes inaccessible, normally when the server's been up for more than a week... Is there any way i can restart/enable it (by services or otherwise) without rebooting the server?
This may be a sympton of something deeper, dunno. Ideas please lads (oh, and ladies)
There's a program for running DOS games on fast computers that sits and chews up clock cycles - probably what you're after. Lemme go dig for it...
Edit: Ah, here we are: Moslo
Dunno how much use it'll be. Could have a looky though.
Agreed mate. She winds me up no end. I fail to see why she's so loved, and why she keeps getting press. Same reason as Pete Doherty i suppose. People like watching car crashes...
