  1. Change/play around with the frequency/channel on your router. Channels 1,6,11 give best reception normally
  2. Read up on a few other threads - this seems an odd issue. Computer boots up fine, but as soon as you insert a cat5 cable it just reboots? There is some kind of comflict going on, but I can't understand why that would be - computer was working fine last week. -Tried different cable -Tried booting with cable, but still reboots after period of time

  4. I've heard of VMware before but not really thought of the idea of giving it a go until now. The thought of clearing all the servers out & virtualising it sounds good to me! I am novice, can someone explain the basic principle. I understand you have 1 main server, & you can run endless virtual ones from it? How is it possible to store so much data, where is it stored? Thank You
  5. Thats excellent guys thank you - changed the settings in the bios - so as soon as someone hits any key or moves the mouse, the machine powers on. genius!
  6. We bought the little lovelys brand new computers at the beginning of term, but vandals have struck again - they're constantly pressing the power buttons in so much that the mechanism inside snaps. The button still works but just about. Is there a setting in the bios, or something we can change - so that they power on straight away as soon as they receive power from the mains? They have a foxconn motherboard, manufactured by Novatech.
  7. Calm down, your get there. So you've got the laptop hd in a caddy attached via usb to your desktop PC correct?

  9. Any ideas of the default keyword for an NEC VT58 Projector?
  10. "Dell don't sell in the shops" If you are looking for secondhand stuff, with no warranty - then there are stacks of job lots of Dells going on eBay. Type in "Job lot dell"
  11. Imagine your harddrive failed, you re-format it - then you realise you had valuable data on it. What is the first piece of recovery software you would turn to?

    XBOX 360

What do you mean special xbox one? Says on the 360 box, XBOX 360 Arcade. Does the Arcade part mean anything? I've read that only 212 games of the old games work, knowing our luck we haven't got any of them! So the best thing would be to purchase an add on hard drive similar to the link posted above? Correct?

The kids/teenagers are 11-16, we have 2 consoles which are both locked in seperate lockers below the TVs and are opened during break periods - the area is supervised during this time.

    XBOX 360

Morning Guys, Staff decided to get the kids an xbox 360 to play on during lunch hours. I really don't know much about them to be honest. Couple of questions really? We've tried to play an old game from the orginal console, & it says we don't have a harddrive? Have we got the basic model? Can we simply by a hard drive as an add-on?

Good afternoon - hope everyones having a good weekend, Trying to format a sata harddrive with windows xp from startup, I go through, select to format the partition and accept the agreement & it starts to format, then I get. setup was unable to format the partition. The disk may be damaged. Make sure the drive is switched on and properly connected to the computer. If the disk is a scsi drive, make sure your scsi devices are properly terminated. You must select a different partition for windows xp Sounds like the harddrive maybe nackered, was wondering is there anything else I could try before going ahead & getting a new harddive? Thanks
