For your office: - benching for repairing machines with plenty of above bench power and live network sockets (THIS SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR STORAGE!!) - separate storage cupboard/room allocated to IT (for all that toner, paper, etc which you will no doubt have to keep somewhere) - storage drawers for useful things (power leads, spare laptop PSUs, network leads of different lengths, vga/dvi cables, etc) - safe storage for tools and COSHH kit (make sure it is lockable so no-one can "borrow" stuff) For the Server Room: - walk round access for all cabinets - space in front of cabinet to open doors and fully extend rack servers - space behind cabinets to open doors and access cabling - cabling routes either under floor or above cabinets on trays for safe access round room - small desk/bench for when you HAVE to do some work in the server room - This should not be a permanent desk for someone! - Small storage area (shelving) for network patch leads assuming core switching also in this room - Over-spec cabinets. Separate cabinets for networking and servers, space for future additional equipment (you never know what may be asked for/required in 2 years), no more that 50% populated on day 1

I have just logged in from my iPad (1st Gen) and seen that the calendars are still showing the "old" look and feel which may mean that MS are still in the process of upgrading the calendars (although I do not know this definitively). I am unable to test with shared calendars as I do not have any set up within our Live@Edu test environment at the moment. Regards, David Irwin

Does your user have a policy applied which hides either the "All Users" start menu or the Users' start menu? Easiest way to identify this would be to run rsop.msc after login (if the user can). Regards, David

Hi, In response to the two problems you are experiencing; 1. Are there multiple IP addresses on the file server that hosts the 'homedocuments' share or multiple DNS entries for the same server? Also I would recommend implementing mapped drives in Group Policy Preferences (User Configuration > Preferences > Windows Settings > Drive Maps > New Mapped Drive > Action (Create) 2. The profiles could be the root of the problem as suggested. I would recommend creating a test user, try with a local profile in the first instance and try to pin it down to a profile issue (if it is that), the next step would be place it in an Active Directory OU with no group policies applied, and gradually start applying GPOs to try and isolate if one of those is causing the problem.
